I got some money burning a hole in my pocket.... I want to get a digi camera. Any suggestions? I plan to spend a few bucks and want something with zoom and 4or5 mega pix.

Yeah... Im leaning towards an olympus c4000. Its rated a best buy by pcworld and is a decent price at costco. I was currious what everyone out there is using since I see nice pics all the time....

This is what I have I bought, a Sony DSC-S85 not the most expensive but fron the use a great cameraa for us. It is a 4.2 megapixl memory stick camera. It takes stills and moving pictures.
I got a hp 7550 photo smart printer that will take the memory without a computer.I looked at the small compact photo printers but decided not to get one since the printer was several years old at home.The full size was about $200 cheeper than the compact ont that I was looking at.
Memory.....I have the memory stick it is about (1/2 X 1) in size and like I mentioned will fit into the prinrer and also the Sony TV I have to view. Lexar is the brand that I purchased for several extra sticks. They helped Sony develop the memory and is about 1/2 the price of Sony.

I take all my pictures with my dad's Olympus. Excellent quality and it's only a 2.11 megapixel!. Olympus from what I hear are rated the top in quality and features. We have: Olympus C-2040 2.11MP Digital Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom Olympus C-2040
If you want a sample pic of what it produces just to give you an idea, let me know. I used a simple HP printer on high gloss photo paper and cant tell them apart from regular photos!

All good cameras, make sure the one you buy has quality glass lenses (like Nikkor, Ziess or similar). This point is just as important as high megapixels. The image is only as good as the lens can deliver no matter how many megas you have.
I only use Canon and Nikon for my pro work and for snap shots. I have a Nikon CoolPix 995 digital, and its image quality is stellar. For me the image quality is paramount this my not be the case for you. Maybe you want compactness and the 995 is not that.
Also, these makers have been making top photo gear for at least 40 years, others I won't name have only jumped on the bandwagon to get in on the digital camera boom. My .02
The printer on the other hand I have to prop Epson as the best photo quality you can buy for the desktop darkroom. Not the fastest printers but, the best images. I use the Photo 1280, but they have a great selection for all price ranges. Sorry, to be so brand specific but I make a living with these printers and wouldn't switch at any price.

I just got an Olympus C5050 Zoom. Very nice camera. No complaints so far, I am impressed with the 5 megapixel camera. Got it for $604 at www.buydig.com, as well as the 1GB IBM Microdrive. Very nice combination.

I just got a Canon PowerShot s230 for Christmas. I believe it's a 3.2 megapixel camera. So far I have been very happy with it.

When you find the one you want check the internet for prices. A lot of cameras come from New Jersey and some from the west coast but you can't beat the prices .

Be careful of those great deals. Some of that stuff is sold as "gray market" and does NOT have U.S. Warranties and will not be repaired free of charge if there is a problem.

Exactly why I ordered from www.buydig.com. This is the 2nd camera I have ordered from them in the past 4 years. I had my order within 5 days this time without paying for any premium shipping options. No gray market stuff yet from them. The camera came in the factory box, as did the microdrive.
Linky works.... looks cool. worth checking out. The camera shop I went to yesterday said to wait a few weeks. All the new stuff is coming out.... so I wait.....
