Absolutely! They're tucked in beside the spare tire. As far as the brand is concerned, I dunno - basic Canadian Tire whatever... has anybody had an experience with a particular brand of jumper wires that didn't work?!?! [Eek!]

FWIW, Canadian Tire is selling a set of "smart" jumper wires! If you hook up to the wrong terminals, you get saved! I just love marketing for the masses! [Wink]

Never! First of all I don't know if I could bring myself to jump a car with the Camaro...well maybe a fellow fboder. Second, if I had to jump the Camaro I would be too ashamed to ask for help, I'd go home, get my Impala that has an extra long set and come back under the cover of darkness. [Big Grin]

Nope. I don't keep anything in the SS that I don't absolutely need. The only things I put in there are the registration, proof of insurance, owners manual, garage door opener, some change, and a extra pair of sunglasses.

Thanks, I thought about buyin' some.......but I really don't need them, got AAA.

You guys missed out on SLP day in Orlando. I had a good time and many SS's. This was my first Camaro event.

Not in the Camaro but I think I have a set somewhere in the garage ... I seem to lose a set per winter.

Yup. Real cheap Canadian Tire set. Too small a guage wire to flow starting power for the boat.

Now I'll only but the heaviest guage longest cable ones I can find.

Oh, by the way..when I was up at school, the battery went dead (I think from listening to the radio in the 'on' position too long) You can always call the 1800 chevy number, that's waht I did! Dont even need AAA.

On a side note, does anyone have, or see a battery-type jumper so you dont need another car? Just wondering if they were effective or not. Thank ya.

Saw one getting Steve and Teri mobile again at IndY2K after the cooler in the SST killed their battery. Don't know how they would do in the cold though.

Don't use the "on" position. just put the key in the ignition and turn it back toward you in the auxiliary position. does not use up as much juice.

yah, i believe it was in the on position (winter time and needed a bit of heat) usually i keep it at auxiliary like when washing my car. Oh well, I've learned my lesson, lol.

I dont even use my car stereo to listen to music when i wash da car anymore.. i plugin my wireless speakers from my computer in my room and listen that way [Big Grin]

No jumper cables in my Camaros.They always start.I do keep a pair in my Ford Stranger and have a nice 25' pair in the wife's car that are made from 6 gauge welding cable. I used these when I lived in an apartment and sometimes I needed to jump a vehicle that was 3 cars away from mine. [Smile]

I have a home made set made of welding cable as well. They're kinda heavy to lug around so they
stay in the garage till needed!

Nope.... I never carry jumpers in any of my cars. Im always in new stuff so I don't need them. If I remember correctly you have a new(er) SS. You have roadside assistance during the 3yr 36K period.

I have one of those battery booster packs. I love it! Wouldn't be without it anymore, I've used it so many times I can't even count! Definetely worth every penny!

Dan, they work great. I have one here at the shop and use it all the time. They are usually good for one jump start, and then need to be recharged,but are small and very lightweight, and work well. I would recommend one. [Smile]

And like Art said, it got us going at Indy 2k [Big Grin]

Yes, I carry a set. I even jumped an old truck using my SS a couple years ago. It was really hard to bring myself to do it, especially since I was jumping a 6 volt system. Probably a stupid move, but I was the only car there and I wanted to take this '46 Ford home w/ us.

Not used them since and I don't think I really need them...but it's just something I have always had in the car.

I like helpoing out others as well, so even if I wouldn't never use it, would be nice to help others [Smile]

Sometimes - got a set of Sears/Craftsman that I try to keep in the car I'm using - that means they get rotated between the SS, the Monte Carlo SS and the Saturn. I think they're either 12 gauge or 14 gauge - 16 foot long wires, and they came in their own case.
