So I finally got around the installing the underside of the exhaust... for now I just hooked it up to the stock exhaust.. after the FLP y-pipe pieces...
I started her up with open headers first.. WOW.. sounded exactly like a NASCAR... heheh.. LOUD.
I put the off road pipes on with the o2 simms and she started up fine.. no codes.. and sounded just a bit louder than stock.. (a little smelly with no cats)
The best part.. I drove her about 10-15 miles.. with ZERO rattle, zero bang.. so now on to other things.. I will get her dynoed when I get a chance..
Trying to decide whether to mess with the loudmouth or not... can't decide.. hmm.

Drive it for awhile then decide if you want the LM . Sounds like you might be happy with the way it is now.

J.R., the LM is very loud. almost too loud for me with stock manifolds. put that is just my .02cents

Sounds like excellent progress. Take your time, try it with the ORPs and then with the cats, then you'll have a better idea.
fyi - I think the headers in many cases damage the 02 sensors. If you start throwing codes you'll need to replace them.

Cool. Although I hated the LM with LTs. Too obnoxious, and it wasn't even a cool sound for a car, almost dare I say "fart pipeish" Posted by CK-1 99SS (Member # 93) on :

I just recently put on LT's with off-road pipes and my Loudmouth, and it is very loud.. It is raspy between 2000-2500 rpms.. I am now currently looking for a different choice of exhaust. I might have to add a muffler to quiet things down a bit..

I think DaddySS put a different tip on his to change the sound alittle. Might want to check before you start changing mufflers Posted by sscamaro (Member # 1330) on :
I have the GMMG chambered cat back. It really has a nice sound with the FLP headers. When I run the ORP it is really loud and raps like crazy, when you get on it. Its much quieter with the cats on. I will probably only use the ORP when I take it to the drag strip. It only takes 30 minutes to change them.

When you run the ORP do you use 02 sims? IF not, any codes?

So your just running it with the stock SS exhaust?
When the time comes to do headers on mine this is the setup I was thinking about. FLP's, ORP and the y-pipe.

Yeah.. when I disconnected the stock y-pipe from the exhaust. When taking the FLP y-pipe from the Off road pipes.. I had to use a simple cutter to remove about one inch from the stock exhaust where it heads back to the stock muffler. This was necessary to make it fit to the FLP without further modification. Now, it fits perfect.. I have ZERO clearance problems.. no rattles.. it's pretty good if you ask me.
