Wow I will tell you I went to put on the Battery Tender to keep the charge up on the SS. As I started loosening the terminals my classring hit the air conditioning compressor and wow what a spark. I had to start up the car to make sure I didn't mess anything up. Thank goodness everything is okay. [Big Grin] [Razz] [Smile] [Cool] But man I tell you nothing like that has ever happened to me before and won't again. I have been working on cars since I was 10 and the only bad thing that happened to me before this was having a carburetor basically blow up in my face. Thank God I was able to turnaway from it and not have any burns at all.

Have a great weekend all.

Always....remove the negative terminal first, and attach it last. Irrespective of how careful you are, if you don't follow that rule stuff can happen!

I know exactly what you mean Daddy and I was doing as you suggested but man somehow and I don't know how but my ring hit the compressor and scared the devil out me when it sparked. [Eek!] I will be more careful next time. [Razz] [Wink] [Big Grin]

Thanks for the advice. [Big Grin] [Cool]

[Eek!] Wow Ed. A hole in the finger??? Hokey smoke I bet that did feel good. [Razz] I was totally surprised and stunned when I got sparked as it never happened to me before......LOL. [Big Grin] I am glad everything turned out alright. I was more worried about the car than myself. [Wink] [Cool]

I made the mistake of touching the starter wires (still connected) to the engine block. [Razz] Nothing happend but it scared the hell out of me.

Glad you're okay!

When I was pumping gas at a Texaco in Tucson, we maintained all the Postal Service jeeps. They had automatic tranny's in them. I accidentally droped the tranny dip-stick on the battery one day. It turned red and melted. Pretty cool except that my boss was not happy. At least I did not grab the stick. [Big Grin]

thank goodness for modern sealed batteries. In
the "old days" with the open styles, you could
have fumes "hanging" around the top and you
might have had an acid explosing. Sometimes
modern is better!

Glad everything is O.K. [Smile]
