The only good thing that can be said is that there were no deaths associated with the tornados. The weather is so sever in this area that we have some of the best weather equipment around. The people in the area had plently of warning and were able to take cover.

Wow, scary stuff. That's the reason we have disaster drills. I'm glad to hear that death counts were minimal across the midwest as a result of the rash of tornadoes this season.

I'll take my 8 feet of snow anyday to stay outta the way of tornadoes and hurricanes.

When I heard the news that the plant got hit, it reminded me of the Corvette Assmembly plant tour. I had a better appreciation why they told the tour guests what to do in case of a tornado warning.

Quite unfortunate.

The good news is that no one lost their lives and there were no serious injuries. The assembly plant was given enough warning to get everyone into the tornado shelter.

Unfortunately, many of our employees lost their cars, trucks, and homes. I have not had reports of any lost family members.

The plant sustained, as you can see, substantial damage...esp. to the power plant, paint shop and body shop as well as to the roof. .... no final assessment as to what the total cost will be to rebuild and restart production. As you can see, many new vehicles were lost as well. The plant assembles the 7-passenger Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT, the Envoy XL and the Isuzu derivative. The plant was built in the eighties and had recently gone thru a complete renovation to start production of the SUVs after building the Chevrolet Malibu.

Seen it on the News and man it looked bad. The plant and vehicles damaged after a 700 million dollar renovation [Frown]
