Since I wanted to know for myself the difference between stock manifolds and long tubes, I had some dyno tests done on our SS (M6) last Friday. Here are the results: 1st run, 333.8 torque, 314.7 hp. 2nd run, 335.7 torque, 313.7 hp. 3rd run, 336.1 torque, 314.1 hp. All three hp curves on the graph are identical and it looks like one single thick line for all three pulls. The torque curves follow the same pattern. It makes me wonder what the flywheel hp really is. The odometer reads about 5400 km (3400 miles)

After the SLP long tubes, cats and y-pipe are installed, it's back for more tests. I'll post results.

Dyno Numbers with SLP Headers

I got the SLP longtubes, cats and y-pipe on today and went to dyno shop for more testing. Here are the new numbers from the best pull: Maximum torque = 350.4 ft-lbs, Maximum power = 331.3 hp. Dyno shop guys figure around 380 flywheel hp. SFCs and STB are next mods for sure.

SLP longtubes is the only performance improvement done to the SS. It came with SLP CME 345 hp package.

Installation was done at the local Chevy dealer where I bought the Camaro. Installation was easy if SLP instructions are followed. All personell at dealership who saw the installation were very impressed. I am very impressed with the SLP product and the hp and torque numbers.

Nice gains, Harry! How do you like the way it sounds now?

Sounds awesome. It's at about the same sound level at normal driving, but what a sweet sound when you stand on it [Big Grin]

Harry, I see the headers, Hi-Flow cats and y-pipe. Are you putting on the SLP Loud Mouth System and if so, are you going to have the whole system dyno?

I don't plan to do any more performance mods to the SS. It's got plenty of power for me as it sits now, and I don't want an exhaust any louder that what I have now. I plan on installing SFCs and STB next in order to maintain the structural integrity of the body. I want to keep the Camaro all GM & SLP content and am waiting for the SLP bolt on SFCs.
