I recently stopped into Hendrick Chevy near my house in Cary, NC and saw four custom Camaros with 400 HP decaled on the SS-like hood. There wasn't a lot of information about them and they were all inside. From my inspection they started life as B4C special service Camaros (based on the window sticker) and had been severely reworked. They had the chrome Z06 rims, Corvette calipers, and slotted rotors. These four had been repainted and had matching color inserts in the center part of the leather seats. They also had a pair of black stripes that ran up and around the ram-air intake and down the back and came together around the Camaro in the rear fascia. There were only 69 of these cars made and they had a GNNR badge on the back fascia. I think I am going to run up there this weekend and check them out. If I had a digital camera I would snap some photos, but I will ask around about them and get back to you guys. Has anybody else seen these at their local dealership? I know Hendrick does a lot of custom mods to Tahoes, Escalades, Camaros and Corvettes, but this is slightly different than the Hendrick Motorsports Edition Camaros they have on hand.

You guys are good. I seem my memory was failing me as it was indeed GMMG on the back and ZL1 behind the front wheels. I will snap some photos and get some more info. The did do a good job on them though.

Is this the same Hendrick Motor Sports which run cars in Bush and Nascar? It wouldn't surprise me none if it was. Posted by CWGrizzwold (Member # 1692) on :
Yeah, it's the same Hendrick Motorsports that runs Jeff Gordon's car and others. They have a ton of $$$ and run a lot of the dealerships in and around the Carolinas. The do put out their own "Hendrick Motorsports" edition cars, but these GMMG ZL1 cars are a lot more clean and put together better. The Hendrick cars tend to get a little "flashy" and "over the top" in my opinion. I will try to get some pics of both tomorrow.
Thanks for the info guys. There is some info on chirpthird.com if you do search for GMMG ZL1 on these cars. I need to find out how much they want for them though.

Okay guys, I dropped into Hendrick Chevy tonight and got the scoop on their allotment of ZL1 Supercars... Rick Hendrick placed the largest dealer order for the ZL1s. Out of the 69 made, he acquired 9. One was added to his personal collection (a black one with red stripes) and the other 8 were put on sale at the dealership. 4 were sold previously and 2 of the 4 on display now are already sold. The two remaining are #36, a Daytona Yellow ZL1 and #34 Quartez Silver ZL1.
Here is the breakdown on price...
Base car (onyx black B4C) ....$25,500 GMMG ZL1 Supercar Package ....$34,895 Emissions recertification ....$ 150 Take off parts credit ....$-4,000 Paint job ....$ 7,900 Matching houndstooth interior $ 995
Subtotal ....$65,390
4:10 rear end gears N/C 1 3/4" long tube headers

Here are some images of the Hendrick Motorsports Edition Camaros... These sell for around $40k and have quite a few mods on them. However, they started life as a Z28 and didn't receive the initial SLP/SS Performance Package.

I really like those ZL1's. The colors and mods are stupendous.
Hendrick Motor Sports also did a great job on the Z28's. Starting at $40,000. I think its a great deal.
