We should all go grab the $50 and run! Posted by DanPazich (Member # 1352) on :
Just saw that over on SLP. Good deal. Although Dave had a good point over there:
quote: Well, lets see who has the last laugh.
You go in for the test drive, let them photocopy your license prior to the test drive. You do the test drive, return the car and say "NO thanks" and get your $50.00.......
They take the info from your license and not only do they send you junkmail for the rest of your life, but sell your info to anyone who will pay.......
Dunno if it's true, but heck, for $50?? Posted by 35TH ED/ed (Member # 1709) on :
Just ask for your copy of the drivers license back and run.

wonder what the catch is. do they only give you the 50.00 if you sign paperwork, or just to drive the car?

Sounds like pretty good marketing to me.
They won't need to sell all that many to recoup the cost ... and then the General will work that much harder to get customers back.
Wonder if there's an equivalent Canadian program Posted by ss_rs_z (Member # 1888) on :
No thanks. I won't stop foot on Blue Oval turf. Posted by DaddySS (Member # 848) on :
'Bout time they reallized they'd have to pay us to drive one! Posted by Camaro_Woody (Member # 1619) on :
I would do it because it fills my tank twice. Take free money any way you can.

Not a bad idea, and easy money. As a former owner of a '94 Z-28 heavily modified by Callaway, and new owner of an '03 Cobra lightly modded (less than $2,500 total invested) to put out 448rwhp and 460rwtq, I think a lot of folks will drive a Cobra and be very impressed. I thought I loved my Camaro until test driving the Cobra last Fall. I took delivery in January. And I had been a Chevy guy for 30 years. Swore I'd never drive a Ford. LOL! Camaros SSs are sweet cars but I really don't miss mine at all. If GM had the same commitment to the Camaro/Firebird that Ford continues to have for the Mustang we probably wouldn't have seen the plug pulled. That was a sad day. I still check your forum occasionally and like to hear how much you folks appreciate the Camaro SS. Maybe some of that pride will be passed along to the General and we'll see a new Camaro in the not too distant future. We need the competition to keep the blade sharp. Now go take a test drive. It will be the easiest $50. you ever made. See you on the streets.
