Here are a few pictures I took while at the Ontario Camaro Nationals this weekend. Many nice Camaros and I believe another record setting attendance!
Click here to view the pictures
Even got to meet Tom Hnatiw ,the host of the TV show on Speed Vision's "Dream Car Garage". He is very funny! The cruise to the falls was just awesome even though it seemed like there was a million people there!

Nice pic's, Greg (I especially like the black SS with the red stripes [Big Grin] ). My digital camara ran out of memory at the start of the cruise, and I wasn't able to reload until we stopped at the turnaround. So, I'm really glad you got the cruise shots. [Smile]

Thanks for sharing.

It was nice meeting you on Saturday Greg. sorry we did not get back to spend a little more time with you, but we had to leave for a prior commitment that evening.

Turned out to be a very long but very very enjoyable day for us.

The Brickyard 400 #2 is owned by Scott's doctor.Scott does have a Brickyard 400 that was VIN 2 but it was not numbered for the Brickyard 400 event. Are you confused yet? [Big Grin]

Bill it was nice meeting you as well.Too much to do and so little time.I barely made into the classifing lanes before they were closed.Actually I was in the lanes a few minutes before 3:00pm (the cut off time) and the lanes were already closed.Scott Kilbride allowed about 4 of us to get judged before that long cruise.

I heard that announcement just after we left you. I remember commenting to Alice that you must have just made it in before they closed the judging.

So how did you do in the judging??

BTW, the car looked absolutely fabulous. [Big Grin]

Very nice pictures Greg. Tell me was that orange 69 a COPO? If I am right they were plain Jane type cars and that one looks like it could be. [Big Grin] [Cool]

After my car was judged both judges just said "Nice Camaro". They then proceeded to tell everyone else in my class on Sunday that they will have some stiff competition from one 35th LE owner who even polished the underside of his SS.I wonder who that was? I saw on Sunday that the same judges went to rejudge my car again after it was dirty from the cruise on Saturday night.
I ended up taking 1st place in class against Gary Kilbrides trailed 35th LE convertible.Dale Oldham made a comment at the awards about how close of a tie was between my driven SS and the trailered one.Feels kind good knowing that I drove 300 miles there thru wet roads and just turned 9607 miles and the car looked decent enought against that super low mileage trailed SS. Ken,that was a COPO. My friend with the 1997 Colorado State B4C ended up in that class against the COPO. That COPO was perfect! [Cool]

Harry,it was hard to get a good picture of your car since there was always a crowd of people around it! How did you get in the Street Class with the long tube headers? [Smile]

Greg, no one prep's a car better than you (I'm trying to be close second [Big Grin] ). You should be proud of the win. Congratulations.

Here's a pic of the three awards in your class 1st is on the left

BTW - Headers are allowed in the OCC Street class.

You even took a picture of Kathy excepting the award. I was too busy getting the car loaded and ready for the trip back home.I thought headers and or an intake manifold put the car in the "Mild Modified" class.Congrats on your award! Was your SS in the "Street" class? [Smile]

Thanks, Greg. Yes, my SS was in the '98 - '02 Street class. My SS took 1st Place for the 3rd year in a row (1st year with the stripes). Each year I get more excited about the win, as there are so many great looking and well cared for 4th gen cars at the meet.

Only mild bolt-on mod's are allowed in the Street class, including headers, but not manifolds. The first year, I only added an STB and it bumped me from Stock to the Street class.

Well your SS deserves to win! I did watch you apply Zaino one morning and it looked great! [Smile]

I let the guys at Legendary Motor Car know about the compliments I received at the Nationals on their stripe job. Now they want me to buy an older car. I suggested a even trade - my SS for the yellow '69 Motion Performance 454 Camaro they restored on Dream Car Garage, a couple of years ago. Do you think they'll take me up on my offer? [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Let's see, what kind of excuse I can come up with, to not even consider your offer? This is going to be hard.

- the year - no, '69 is my favourite
- the model - no, I luv it.
- the color - green is nice.
- the stripes - ya sure!
- the wheels - no, I like the rally rims.

So, what kind of excuse can I come up with?

I know! I don't want to sell the SS, and Karen won't let me use her side of the garage.

That's it! It's all Karen's fault. [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Maybe Kathy can talk Karen into parking outside like she does everyday! [Big Grin]

Thanks for letting me know Greg. I thought it was a COPO. Love those cars. [Cool] [Big Grin]

Teri if I had the room I definately would be in the market for your 69 RS. Tell me is that Fathom Green because that is my favorite color on the 69 Camaro. [Big Grin]

Congratulations on the win Greg.

After watching your last minute efforts to get it ready, I'll bet the win feels good.

Greg, according to the info in the show program, you can have either headers or a modified intake but not both to stay in the street class.
