Called the local tire store I deal with and he tells me a 315 / 35 will fit under our 02 SS in the rear. Say's there the same height, only about 1 1/2 wider. Say's the BFG have better traction?? We drive our SS only on nice days with weather forcast in hand.

You'd need new rims with that size - have you
tried the Nittos? I have Nittos and they are
much better than the stock Eagles for traction.

I ran a borrowed set .... whatever size is standard on 16 x 8 rims ... on the track and was VERY impressed. They bit better than the clutch [Frown]

Don't think I'd want them as a street tire though ... and I'd be leary of pinching that size onto a 9" rim.

Most folks who put the 315's on the rear, even with the wider offset rims, have to do some pounding in the wheel well to keep them from rubbing.

A friend of mine when we were running the road race at Indy, his 315's on offset wheels the tires were still rubbing in the wheel wells and creating smoke. They pulled him off the course because of it.

If you don't do ANY road racing or auto-crossing, you would be OK, but get the wider offset wheels.

Have not tried Nitto's. I hear there good...its just that I hear the BFG's have better traction. Thanks for the size and fit info.
