Several years ago, when Steve da Wrench installed our power antenna, this was the info he used:
That info was used by others and revised in various documents and posted around the internet. If you do a search at SLP's message forum, you might find the latest update floating around out there.

Use these numbers for your Camaro. The other number is for the Firebird antenna. The antennas look the same but have a different mounting bracket. I know from experience.
You can pick up power from the amplifier module in the right rear quarter but you have to run a control wire to the radio. I also installed a control switch next to the power top switch using a fog light switch from the 93..97 Camaro dash and a dual plate that was used for the verts that went to Germany. The second hole was for the headlamp height control switch but the foglamp switches also snap into the same hole. It looks just like a factory installation

One thing I did differently was build a stand alone harness and ran power from the the front of the car. I don't like those scotch locks or taping into any wires.... I like the fact I can take mine out and it will be back to origional..... plus I have a hard time cutting wires on a new car.

Ditto on that. Steve hasn't had a chance to add a toggle switch for the antenna override. One issue is where to put it. The ASR spot is already taken and we also have the headlight adjustment wheel.....and it's functional. Posted by NATESS (Member # 982) on :
I noticed that the whole thing costs about $140.00 (antenna, connector, and radio harness).
i've seen power antennas for sale at aftermarket suppliers, such as RK Sport, for $99.00. does anyone know if this includes all of the three components, or just the Antenna?

We wanted to stick with GM on this one and not mess w/the aftermarket on it. The price difference could be worth the headache saved when the aftermarket part fails and you spend that money all over again to replace it. We know the GM antenna is designed for the F-car, fits and functions like it came from the factory that way.
If it doesn't specify on their website, you might want to call RK Sport and ask what their kit comes with.

I took off the Camaro dash plaque thingy, there are two spaces for switches there. I used a fog light switch and put a blank in the other one for now. If I get a line lock, guess where it is going?
I might not have done that if I had an SS dash plaque, but I don't.

We have the optional dash plaque and ASR, so all spots are full in that department.

Dont want to beat a dead horse, here, but,...can I just hook up the signal wire and a fused 12V wire with a switch to raise the mast? I would rather not take the dash apart...thanks!

Not sure.... I think for the signal regardless if you tap the power in the back off the amp you still need to run a wire up to the back of the radio. You don't have to disasemble the dash to do the car. The trim face for the radio simply pulls off.... two bolts hold the radio in. As far as the hush panel under the passenger side there are two christmas trees you pull out.... and one nut to remove... Then you would have to remove the door trim molding.... 4 or 5 screws... and you could run your wire.... depending on your comfort level you could remove the "B" pilar trim or simply tuck the wire up under the trim and run it to the antenna. Hope that helps... its not really that bad. If your unsure it might be helpful to pick up a copy of the service manaul.... hope that helps! Posted by pharmpod (Member # 1292) on :

Its for the euro spec headlights.... which tilt up and down via electric motors.... thus the switch. Its for when your car is loaded down you can tilt the beam down so as not to blind other drivers.... just one other cool thing we never got over here. To get the parts list it will cost you! Your close.... those numbers look right. You won't find the info on the correct diode to use, GM never published it anywhere... Steve Da wrench has it. I'll let him tell ya the story behind that one... You are correct there is a wiring diagram in Helm's. I doubt you'll find the conector for the actual levlers. You either need to but the whole harness (expensive) or can build your own stand alone.... I blieve they are a Bosch style... any european parts shop should be able to get their hands on some for you.... then the fun part is putting it all togather...

I just installed the power antenna (GM Pontiac F-Body) on my 99 SS and followed blackcamaro.com instructions and it was a piece of cake.It came out awesome.Very happy with the install.

Is the nut on the top of the bezel still used?
The top of my antenna doesn't have any threads.

All that holds the antenna in is one bolt. The rubber grommet in the fender stays...

That's what I thought.
The parts listing for the RPO U75 power antenna shows a nut #12369494 shown below
that installs on top of the rubber bezel #10298264 shown below
There is also a reference the nut and the nut removal tool in the instructions at the top of this thread.
Was there a design change that eliminated the need for to use this nut?

The nut is behind the wheel!
I didn't use any nut on mine. I just pulled the old antenna out through the bezel and installed the power antenna.
