Got these installed last weekend and finally got to test the launch today. I am happy to report that the results were excellent – no wheel hop, excellent plant!

I was talking to Kevin (Raggs) and this is another instance where the mod surprised me. The new brackets also resulted in a more tame ride quality from the rear suspension. It seems that the change in geometry affects the action of the rear axle over bumps – a nice side benefit of doing this job.

All the write ups talk about cutting the emergency brake cable bracket in order to fit the new brackets. I bought a replacement set of brackets so that I could retain the originals uncut, but I never got them up to Kevin to weld for me. I decided to proceed with the install anyway and figured I would use the replacement brackets to restore the car to original if necessary (a compromise I know). When I removed the bolts however I noticed that the holes were elongated, and I thought I may be able to bend the brackets around the new LCA brackets and they would fit without cutting. I bent the brackets out, and using a large screwdriver blade as a spacer – hammered the brackets back into shape to fit. Installed the LCA brackets and using a large C clamp to hold the reshaped bracket in place, I used a large punch to re-align the holes for the bolts. Well it fit just fine, and with a little chassis black gloss, the reshaped brackets look great.

I recommend this mod for everyone with a lowered car and even if your car is not lowered, since the LCAs do not angle upward properly even at stock spring height. The mod took about 90 minutes and the brackets are fairly cheap.

I had mine apart to put them on - and guess what -
they sent me the wrong brackets! Boy was I
cursing

I returned them about 1 month ago to the supplier
and have yet to receive the correct ones. If I
don't get satisfaction shortly I shall post the
name of the supplier - so we can all be forwarned
about dealing with them. What really infuriated me
was that when I called to complain, I was told that they knew a few bad ones were sold to the
public but have made no effort to contact the
people, they are waiting for the customers to
complain - some service!

I'll give it another week

............That is lame.
Hawkeye, ...Rich (I believe) and I used BMR brackets, ...the quality is excellent, and the customer service has been great. When you say "supplier" do you mean the 'middle-man' or the actual company making them? (and hopefully it's not BMR)
In any case, ...if there is a company out there that KNOWS they have a problem and are not contacting their customers, ... , ...I'd take my money elsewhere.

I was told that I purchased BMR relocation brackets, but there was a "bad" batch of them.

They were too narrow to fit. Very frustrating
after getting the car up and undoing the LCA's
on both sides just to find out wrong parts

Kevin and Rich,

Do you have adjustable LCA's and did you have to shorten them up to get the axle back to center in the wheelwell?

Art, I installed fixed(BMR) LCA's, ...prior to the relocation brackets(BMR. Everything went in fine, wheels centered in wells, etc.
(not that this is related, ...even though it is to lowering, ...I do have an adj. PH)

Hawkeye, ...bad batch of BMR's ... , that surprises me that they didn't speak up on it... , ...I've never heard anything bad about them...

LCA = Lower control arm - they're the pieces that hold the axle in place fore and aft. The front bolts to the body, the rear to the bottom of the axle. When a car is lowered, the angle changes (front of the LCA is closer to the ground) so the LCA relocate brackets are used to move the axle mounting point lower.

i like the BMR bolt-in LCA brackets because they are remomveable if you want to ever put you car back to stock, plus they come powder coated. however, they are not compatible to aftermarket rear ends, such as the moser 12-bolt. you have to use the weld-in ones, which are not powder coated.
