AAAAAGGGHHHHH!!!!!
I was afraid this would happen.
The SSOA die cast, officially distributed by the SSOA in Bowling Green.....with an official numbered decal and the opportunity to have it signed by none other than the famous, Jason Debler.....will cost no more than $25 each.
Uh Oh....Ken, you're going to get on HTWLSS bad side.

Hey guys and gals....... also keep in mind, and tell all your friends........
The SSOA distributed die cast 1:18 scale cars will be officially stickered with sequential numbers, and will therefore be special/different than the ones sold by other places. The cost will also be less! So please purchase the SSOA ones so Kevin doesnt have to take any home!

Are these the Welly Version?

The ones that will be in Bowling Green are Welly's.

Again. Yes, ALL of the SSOA cars were produced by Welly and designed by us. SSOA Director, Jason Debler, came up w/the color scheme for the stripes on the white car to match our logo on the doors.
Earlier this year, we contacted Welly and found out what it would take to order a special version of the 1:18 scale Camaro die cast. To do this costs thousands of dollars.
The SSOA paid the set up fees, and went through a lot of trouble to get this car designed and produced. The minimum run was 2000 pieces.
After paying the set up fees, The SSOA could only afford 84 cases (504 pieces) of the 2000 piece total. The entire run of cars would have cost about as much as a nicely optioned SS. We don't have that kind of money.
It was agreed that the 1496 pieces that the SSOA wasn't distributing would be sold through another source later in the year. The Chevy Mall is on Welly's distributor list, so it seemed like a perfect match for getting the rest of the run out there.
We were in the middle of discussion with the Chevy Mall regarding the distribution of the remainder of the run, when we found out Welly had prematurely announced the item to their other distributors. The other distributors pre-orders started showing up on the internet and the cat was out of the bag. We've been scrambling ever since.
It was supposed to be a surprise to our members at the Bowling Green Event in September, but Welly forgot about all the times we discussed this secret.. We were supposed to be able to sell our 504, then let the rest get released in October in time for Christmas orders AFTER the SSOA distributed cars were gone.
This has dissapointed and frustrated me to no end. We had it all figured out, but it got all mixed up out of our control.
The SSOA paid the set up fees and several of us went through the headache of seeing this through. We're just trying to essentially break even by selling the cars for $25. If we distribute all 504 pieces, we'll have just enough $$ to round out the fund to buy our SSOA brick(s) for the NCM.
What irks me is the other distributors got the jump and will make money on them before we break even (it would have been fine w/me as long as ours went first). We will still go with our inital plan to get them to our members in September. With all the work put into this by the Directors, Steve da Wrench, Stefan Engh, and Kevin Villier, the B.G. distributed cars need to be special and stand out from the rest of the run.
So, what's done is done. That is why the SSOA distributed cars will be getting a special numbered decal on the box to make them stand out from the rest. That is also why we're encouraging people to get one from the B.G. event. We'll be encouraging people to take them back home by the case, to others in their area who can't make the B.G. event.
I'm done.
