Just finished up the relcation brackets for the
LCA's.

I did not have to cut or bend the brake bracket,
I just eye balled it, and it looked like if I
used a little persuation I could get the bracket
to fit inside the outer brake bracket and outside
of the inner side of the brake bracket. It worked!

That BMR part is made to measure and you can use
the existing brake bracket without cutting or
bending. It just takes time to line up the holes
and get the bolt through. The whole job took
three hours. [Big Grin]

And, the power antenna is done - with a seperate
toggle switch. [Big Grin]

Hey nice work. So you put one side inside the LCA and the other outside? Sounds like a neat trick. I thought of that but was sure it wouldn't work. Your eyeballs must be better than mine! [Big Grin]

Just some cursing, and tapping with a mallet and
some elbow grease, the hardest part was getting
the original bolt and spacer through. I just
didn't think it needed to be cut. Actually Rock did the same thing with his '99 SS. It can be
done, just patience. [Smile]

Where did you place the switch. I am curious about that for when I listen to cds on the road.

I put the switch under the dash. I drilled a small
hole in the plastic housing near where you plug
in the GM diagnostic computer. I can reach it
no problem and it's out of the way.

I did run seperate power lines, I didn't like
tapping the amp power line, and I used a seperate
ground. I bolted the ground wire to the antenna
mounting bolt. A nice mod, easy to do, just be
patient running the wires. The hardest part is
fiddling with the jack and spare tire getting
it all back together! One day I'll post some
photos.
