I've tried a number of metal polishes on my SS's dual/dual exhaust over the last 5 years, but never could completely get rid of the weld discoloration at the pipe & muffler joints.
Yesterday, I picked up a can of 3M Chrome & Metal Polish. I tried it last night on one of the pipe welds, and it removed most of the discoloration with not much rubbing at all.
It's got to be one of the best metal polishes I've used to date and, based on my initial results, would recommend it.
I saw something like this on one of the TV car shows and wondered if it really worked. Thanks for the tip.

I have had very good luck with the 3M products. Their swrilmark remover & show wax are very good products & alot cheaper than "others"

No, I have consumed the Zaino Koolaid and am a believer. But for polished metal this stuff is the Zaino equivalent for painted surfaces. It lasts for months, is easy to touch up with another quick coat sealer and when you need a bit a cleaning, you just mix the cleaner with the sealer. For keeping water spots, brake dust, and other road junk off of polished metal it's the best I've found.
