Well after seeing some pictures of people doing this I decided to do this as well. I took apart my headlights and painted the chrome parts (except the reflective surface) gloss black. Overall I like how it looks and it didn't take away my night time visibility at all..

To take the lense off the light portion you can put your whole light assembly in the oven at 210F for about 30 minutes. This softens up the factory silicone adhesive enough that you can apply amll pressure to pry the lense off the back portion. Its really not that hard to do it just takes time and patience. You might have to put the light in the oven a few times to totally get the lense off.. After everything is done and painted then you just go out an buy some silicone adhesive and reapply it back into the groove. The lense fits in there just like it did from factory and everything is sealed the same....

I would love to do this mod this weekend, Im just too afraid to try.. i think it looks sweet though... What kind of prep work did you have to do before painting? Any tips on masking the reflector area??? Like i said, I really want to do this.

Here are the instructions I used to do mine.. I used Gloss black high heat paint and the paint has held up so far...
