On Saturday I finally had a chance to take my car to the track after all the mods I have done below.. Here is what the conditions were at the time of my best run..
Tires : BFG G-force KD's Elevation : corrected at 4000ft Temperature : 100F
My best run was a 12.6@115.5mph with a 2.22 60ft..
I figured this is not bad considering I was on street tires and it was a bit warm out.. All my other runs were in the 12.8's with 114 to 115mph...
Now all I have to work on is my launch and fix my slipping Torsen now... Posted by ss_rs_z (Member # 1888) on :
Great numbers Curtis. Congrats. Posted by poSSum (Member # 119) on :
Better weather and a set of DR's and you're easily into the 11's.
Did you give up a noticeable amount of bottom end torque with mod's?

Actually I gained quite a bit low-end it seemed. It is very hard to get traction on the low-end and even driving around on the street.. Its so hard to tell... You will have to take it for a spin and tell me.. Posted by Bill Mason (Member # 1807) on :
Is your car lowered? From the picture it looks like it is. If this is the case, check the angle of the lower control arms. If the LCAs are horizontal or pointing up at the rear, this could be one of your problems. The LCAs should be slightly lower at the rear (pointing down).
This condition will cause the car to squat at the rear under acceleration with reduced traction. Think of it as the axle trying to move up into the body, rather than the front lifting and transferring weight to the rear.
If this is the case, you will need LCA relocation brackets to correct the LCA angle.
My two cents.

Excellent! I just have to learn how to drive mine. Posted by CK-1 99SS (Member # 93) on :
Bill My car has BMR boxed LCA's with the relocation brackets in the bottom hole. My LCA's are parallel with the ground. Street tires don't help out much either, its just too much power for them.. Time for a 9" this winter.. Posted by Bill Mason (Member # 1807) on :
Okay. That base is covered. As another thought you might want to see if the axle is slightly crooked relative to the thrust line. That is to say, is there a thrust angle to the rear axle.
The reason I bring this up is that a thrust angle will cause the tires to run at a small slip angle while going straight ahead. This is slippage and will take away from straight line traction.
I am using Spohn adjustablke LCAs with relocation brackets and they were adjusted to remove thrust angle. Adding re-location brackets can cause this as any side to side variations are magnified.
This is all part of a good four-wheel alignment process. Besides it really fun to confuse the alignment tech with this one when you ask for the rear end alignment to be set.
Just a thought.

Nope There isn't a dyno within 500 miles of here.. I am going to have to wait for Bowling Green if they are still going to have the portable one there....
