I paid $1.799 for premium to fill the SS this morning. I've seen it up to $1.899.

Most gas stations around here want over $2 for a gallon of premium. This is about .50 per gallon increase in the last 3 weeks.Seems like the Government is not doing anything about it either. They blame it on the power outage.Think about it,with all of the gas stations around that did not have power could not pump gas.So why the so called shortage? The people that did panic and waited in a 2 hour line at a gas station did not have to fill up the following week. Posted by Steve da Wrench (Member # 1301) on :
Just filled up the 68 the other morning, and its at 2.09 per gallon of super (or it may have been 2.19, I dont remember!)
Funny how the price goes up all the time instantly because its sunny, rainy, summer, winter, spring, spring break, war, war is over, school is starting, school is over, the plant blew up, the plant DID NOT blow up, the moon is half out, they have to truck it, they dont have to truck it, they have to pump it for you (Oregon and New Jersey ), they dont have to pump it for you.............. etc.
But when (if) the price ever drops, it is never as low as it started, and it takes forever to drop.

$2.49 a gallon on Mon. for 91 octane We just had a gas shortage in the Valley. shades of 1970!! Long waits in line, closed stations and stupid people. Supposedly our supply is getting back to normal but I haven't seen the price drop much. The news stations were saying it got as high as $4 & $5 a gallon at the beginning of the shortage.
I had the car on fumes and had to call stations to see if they had gas 2 weeks ago. Not a pleasant feeling.
BTW, the PHX crisis is part of the reason CA prices went up. Additional supplies were routed from CA for us. Sorry!!

You people have nothing to complain about. Here, REGULAR unleaded is 2.25 and up. Someplaces have premium at around 2.75 per gallon.

Darn you AZ'ers!!
From what I heard, 12,000 gallons leaked out of a pipeline in AZ - which is about 1.5 trucks worth of fuel. Apparently a lot of people heard this and thought there would be a shortage so they all went out and filled up....and thereby CREATING a shortage. The line was repaired and other states helped out to meet the demand but that in turn gave these station owners a reason to raise prices through the roof. I don't know how much of this is accurate though.
I heard the gas will be 2.50 here for regular over the weekend!

The line burst on July 31. It wasn't until Sun Aug 17 that I even noticed anything different. There were ALOT of stupid people while it was bad. Filling up gas cans even after filling their tank, cutting fuel lines on a day care van to get the gas out of them and one guy that bought a bunch of 2 gallon gas cans, filled them up and then offered to fill the tanks of people waiting in line for gas. His price?? $10 for 2 gallons and $8 for the empty container!!!!
There's been alot of finger pointing and hullabaloo about it. I don't expect prices to come down anytime soon though. As someone else pointed out, they go up awfully fast but take their sweet time coming down. Posted by BDubLS1 (Member # 1390) on :
I don't understand why the gas prices are shooting up again... anyhow, premium here is 1.78
Posted by Carrie (Member # 1947) on :
$1.999 for super here. If I drive 20 min away I can probably find it for $1.80+

People are soooo stupid sometimes...it's almost kind of funny when you hear those stories.
Anyway, makes me wish I owned a gas station.

Amoco 93 here is $1.99. It was $2.03 yesterday. No darn reason for gas prices to be this high. Must be going to pay for the IRAQ rebuilding. President Bush cut the Federal raises from 2.5% to 1.5% to get billions more to help that nation.
We need it here for our people.

I found the first gas station in the area to boost Sunoco Ultra 94 to $2.00/gal. Regular ranges from $1.74-$1.83. Two weeks ago, I was paying $1.35! Posted by Sweden SS (Member # 1747) on :
Filled her up yesterday...
9.93SEK/liter for 95 octane (The lowest rating we have here) 1USD is currently 8.65SEK 1 US gallon is 3.785 liters
9.93 x 3.785 = 37.59SEK/gal, which translates to the humble price of $4.35/gal

...WOW , ...now THAT is pricey.
...but you still have to wonder (like Steve Da Wrench mentioned), ...WHY the price always jumps Soooo fast (for any reason), ...and falls Soooooooooooooo slow. Obviously this is all about $$$$ (for the oil companies of course), ...but it amazes me how blatent they are to take advantage of raising it whenever they can... ...just my .02...

I just saw that Exxon 93 is $1.99/gal. I think I can find cheaper prices. There are web sites that post local gas prices, but the prices are changing by the hour! (it seems like!) Posted by Y2KSS1363 (Member # 1564) on :
$2.299 for premium in North San Diego County.
Diesel still at $1.799, it hasn't budged. It used to be higher than premium.

About 2 weeks ago when I filled up I paid $1.72 for premium now its over $2.00 . Still have a full tank .
Reg what I put into the truck is close to $1.80 .Have to fill up today .
The wife filled up 3 times this week and it cost us $0.00 . Thank heavens for company cars.

Wow...guess I shoudln't be complaining...Looks like the prices will hopefully peek this weekend and drop back down, however slow it may be. Some of those prices are crazy!!! I wouldn't be able to have my SS if prices got that high. Posted by Krista (Member # 1904) on :
I rarely even consider or think about what I'm paying for gas. I have a gas card and have a certain amount budgeted for it each month and am generally pretty close. I just figure "you play, you pay" and never consider putting anything less than 91 in her. I about had heart palpitations when I filled up at the beginning of our "crisis" as the only thing avail was 87!! But after being on fumes and waiting in line there was no way I could do anything else.
