Just wanted to let everyone know that the last Tom Henry SS Camaro that I originally attempted to purchase while stationed in Iraq is almost mine. I fly back to Pennsylvania on the 10th to sign the paper work.
Starting to have some sleepless nights in anticipation.
Once I take delivery, I'll change my signature block to read something like.....
"380HP/400lb,ft - Super Sport MONSTER!"

Congrats. Chief, I talked with Tom just the other day and he mentioned that the Monterey Marroon car found a good home. Welcome to a small but elite family of owners of some special cars. I can't say enough about Tom and his dealership. One of the nicest people you could ever meet and an all-round good guy. Take good care of the "MONSTER", and maybe we will see you at a show or two in the coming year. I am just over the Ohio border and make it a priority to attend the show at Tom's dealership.

That color is awesome... but was it entirely painted Monterey Maroon or was it a Z28 rebadged as an SS? If so, I hope they told you about it.

God Bless digital cameras that take a bunch of pictures! Posted by Chief Strobel (Member # 2078) on 09 September, 2003 11:49 AM:
Thanks for the reply's all.
As for the pics of the car, its painted 44U, Monterey Maroon Metallic direct from the factory. When I spoke to Tom about it in Iraq, he said it was like #1 of 125 in that paint.
As far as I know its not a re-budged Z28, I believe its a full fledge SS. Tom sent it to GMMG for the upgrades and such and has told me the build number.
The pic posted on this message board is not the same car. The one I sign for on Friday doesn't have those cool strips on the front fenders nor does it have the decal on the windshield. Nonetheless it's still a cool car. I know Tom will be out of the office the day I show up, but we plan to meet on Sunday.
Like Kevin said, he's a very classy guy. He has done so much for me in getting this car; I couldn't possibly thank him enough. Scott is another person that words could not express my gratitude. He has provided me with some great information about my car and is the main reason I was introduced to this message board.
I really feel welcomed into this big family. Thank you all, again, for the kind words. And remember, support your troops, and support the commander in chief.

Tom Henry must of had more than one Monterey Maroon Metalic Camaros for sale.Sorry,I thought it was your Camaro.I don't have any other pictures of another that color from Tom Henry Chevrolet.Enjoy that Camaro whichever one it is!
This is the Monterey Maroon Metallic Camaro that Tom Henry Chevrolet has on their website.Appears to be the last Tom Henry Camaro available.

If my memory serves me correctly, ...One of the members on this board made those stripes. (anybody know who?) As for the windshield banner, Tom Henry stuff, etc. ...don't be shy (ask Tom for anything he's willing to 'throw in the trunk' ) I'm sure he'll find something...

I beleive it's Mark IXZD 150. You can get those stripes at www.afterthoughtsauto.com Posted by NATESS (Member # 982) on 09 September, 2003 01:38 PM:
Welcome to the board. and thank you for everything you have done for this country.

Its been posted before (on the slp site. I think)that this car is not a true "SS" but a Z28 with a SS hood. Berger SS's were the only cars repainted other colors. Look at the hood, its a different shade.

The combination of the color and stripes gives me the same feeling of a Fathom Green 69 with with Hockey Stripes down the side with a Big Block in it. Posted by HTWLSS (Member # 117) on 09 September, 2003 02:31 PM:

Not a BB, but it's Fathom Green w/a hockey stick stripe. (It's for sale, too!)

Teri I love that car. It has always been my favorite all-time Camaro. Especially with the RS package. Those hideaway lights really make the car standout and look mean.
Believe me sweetie if I had the room I would buy it in an instant. Posted by Chief Strobel (Member # 2078) on 09 September, 2003 05:43 PM:
Okay, now you've peaked my interests.
Is there a certain build code that I need to look for on my build sheet that would denote a SS over a Z28?
Let me tell you I went down my build sheet and compared it to what is offered on the SS, and everything pretty much matches up.
Posted by mhayman (Member # 146) on 09 September, 2003 05:49 PM:
RPO code WU8 denotes the SS. Posted by csmith4153 (Member # 2087) on 09 September, 2003 08:18 PM:

You can find that on the inside of the driver door
Posted by Chief Strobel (Member # 2078) on 09 September, 2003 11:20 PM:
Looking at my build sheet, I did not see that code. Following down the sheet it only said Z28.
So I guessed its been re-badged as an SS.
I'm sure I'll get over it when I turn the key and hear those GMMG pipes open up. Posted by csmith4153 (Member # 2087) on 10 September, 2003 08:56 PM:

He should of told you! I think you have a B4C Camaro, which is the camaro police car. Just a Z28 without the badges
