I was wanting to know what is the reason for the Black rear panel on the Berger, Tom Henry, and Zl-1 cars. I am clueless why they did that, but please help me understand.

It's reminiscent of the Big Block cars of the late 60's. They had blacked out rear panels.

Back when the 1st Generation Camaro SS came out and was a factor big block,the tail panel was black.A sign of ultimate performance.GMMG repeated that black panel indiacating that there was not just a stock LS1 under the hood,plus they look great! [Smile]

Do GMMG Tom Henry SS, Berger SS, etc. Start life as SLP SS's before going to GMMG or does GMMG add the SS hood and components to standard Z28s?

Depends on the model.

All Berger SS are true SLP modified SS's

Most Tom Henry SS's start life as an SS', but some are Z28's and I beleive a couple are B4C (police packaged Z's)

All Intimidator SS's are SLP, SS's

The ZL-1's all started life as B4C's and none of them have t-tops. GMMG added the Hood and Spoiler.

The Hot Rods are all Z28's

I think that has it covered.

So would a Tom Henry SS that really WAS an SS to start with (SLP modified) still retain all the SLP decals in the door jambs,etc. and be listed as an SS in SLPs records? I would think that from a collectibility standpoint, an SLP modified car that was then modified by GMMG would have more value in years to come than a car that was just a Z28 prior to being converted by GMMG... Sort of a "double SS" so to speak.

Yes they did keep the stickers in hte doors jambs. Then all GMMG cars had a brass plate put on the driver's inner door jamb. All depends how you look at it.

I would like to have a B4C that was converted over by GMMG. Not many B4c Camaros and even fewer that have been converted. Either way they are all great cars..
