Called and ordered the hood from www.fbodymotorsports.com . So far, they have been excellent at customer service. They return calls, are knowlegable, and do a great job. I would buy from them again in a heartbeat, and reccomend them to anyone.
However, the shipping company, is full of idiots... Overnight Transportation.
1. Hood reached Houston, Tx, on Friday, August 29th.
2. They attempted delivery to dealership on Tuesday, September 2nd. Put paperwork on the delivery truck, forgot to load the hood on the truck. So when the truck showed up at the dealer, the hood could not be delivered.
3. They attempted delivery to dealership on Thursday, September 4th. However, dealership closed at 7 pm, and they attempted delivery after dealership was closed, so they could not deliver. But at least they got it on the truck this time.
4. Hood was delivered to Dealership in Houston, Tx, on Friday, September 5th. Thats right. It took them 7 days to move the hood across the city. The hood, although not damaged, had a bunch of dents, dings, and tears in the box. Fortunately, the people at the hood manufacturer had done an excellent job at packaging the hood prior to shipping.
5. Was told originally that the cost for shipping would be $80, to ship from Pennsylvania to Texas. Found out upon delivery that the actual shipping price was $117. Thats about 1/3 off. Called the shipping company to inquire about the discrepancy this morning. Was told that the box had been re-weighed in transit, and a weight correction was done. The original package weight was 45 lbs. The adjusted weight was 250 lbs, which bumped the shipping cost to approximately $336. Now, I know there is no possible way within laws of physics that a fiberglass hood can weigh 250 lbs. People at shipping company are morons, and refuse to listen to reasonability.
6. Fortunately, Roy at Fbodymotorsports called his contact at the hood manufacturer, and his contact is dealing with the shipping company directly, and correcting the problem.
Just thought you guys might get a kick out of this. I for one like good customer service, and have little patience for stupidity. I am glad for the good service I have recieved thus far from Fbody Motorsports. Tomorrow, I will be driving to Houston to inspect the hood and show the bodyshop how to install one (since they are having trouble). I will make sure to take lots of good pictures, and if someone wants to host them, just email me. Also, any comments, advice, or assistance from you people would be welcome before I go on my journey tomorrow.

That hood would be so heavy at 250 lbs, that it would take the Worlds Strongest Man to open! Good luck!

I also have little patience for idiots. Unfortunately, there are a lot of them out there.
Hope all goes well on your hood install. As far as hosting pictures goes, I finally signed up for a "freebee" account at Webshots since I don't have my own web site for hosting. Why don't you give that a try? You can't hotlink but you can post a link to your own personal WebShot's page.

I have worked with shipping companies all for over 20 years and cannot for the life of me see how they can " correct " a fiberglass hood of 45# to an astounding 250#. This is totally ludicrous and that company reprimanded for falsifying shipping records.
I can understand your anger at this and hopefully something will be done to correct the charges.

Yeah, they seem pretty good. I think you will be happy with the work they do.
As for the morons with the shipping company, I thought I had seen everything. I guess no matter how idiot proof they make things, the world just makes a better idiot...
