With the few things left stock on my car, I'm ordering bushings for the front and rear sway bar, I noticed a defaul SS option is:

- Larger Front Anti-Sway Bar and Revised Rear Track

Its been awhile since my 94 Z28, so I can't remember the size of my sway bars compared to my SS swaybars. Are the sway bars on my car the 30mm or 32mm for front, and 19mm or 21mm for the rear?

SLP used to have a very detailed suspension chart available for reference with all that info on it. Since the site has been taken down, it can't be accessed through the hoodscoop/suspchart URL anymore. Anybody have a copy of it, or know if it's still available on one of the other F-body sites?

Best regardSS,

Elie

Hot Rod- 32/19 were the standard bars on a SS. Do you have theY2Y option and what year is your car?

A cheap digital micrometer should answer the question for you. Every tool box needs one anyway [Smile]

No 97's have the Y2Y code-it was only available for 98-02.

The 96 and 97 SS were all done at SLP so no need for a Y2Y code. In 98 GM started doing them in house and shipped them to SLP for hood, spoiler and things and if they got other SLP opts added the Y2Y code was to tell them of the extra opts to be added. The dealer that ordered the car had to add it to the original order to tell the factory they wanted extra opts on the car at SLP. That code could not be added after the car was ordered [Roll Eyes]

There was a code for all of the 96-97 so that Ste. Therese knew to send them to SLP and not the ship yard. The code was changed for the 98 year. Sometime in late '01, all SS's had the Y2Y code added by Chevrolet, even if they didn't get any SLP options. This made it easier for dealers to add stuff at the last minute.

I think I saved it. I'll check at home tonight. If I do, I'll email it to you and maybe you can host it because I don't have a web page.
edit-for the '01 & '02 models
Production SS(RPOWU8),Firehawk(non-Bilstein),
RPO Y3B Chev RS, & RPO Y3C Pont. GT =
32 mm hollow(front), 19 mm(rear)

RPO 1LE & RPOY2Y SLP Bilstein =
35 mm hollow(front), 21 mm(rear)

(the chart gets messy with the spacing, so I just put the sway bar info in here)

That chart did not cover the 96-97 vehicles. I never published info on those cars. That chart was part of our 01-02 press show packet.
