I'm getting ready to get in on the group purchase, and I have one quick question for you...

How much, if any, cutting to the intermediate pipe did you have to do to get the y-pipe to mate up properly with the rest of the exhaust system?

It would have been none if I had the 2 3/4" Y-Pipe.

I have the 3" Y-Pipe so it is 3 1/2" at the rear. The standard intermediate pipe on my CME was 3" so PPC included a reducer which went from the Y to the intermediate pipe. I had to cut 6" or so to have them mate up.

Thank's much for clearing that up...the whole thing about the different size y-pipes is making sense now. Guess I'll probably go with the 3"-3.5" y-pipe as well since I'll be doing heads and cam down the road.

My thoughts, but I am going the forced injection route.

I also thought i would be putting a different exhaust to meet up with the CME, but it sounds pretty sweet right now!

Here is a silly question I was asked the other day about the SS, "Is that thing as fast as it looks and sounds?"

Maybe you demonstrate it to him as he passes through your cloud of dust and smoke.

John...

What you'e looking at here, is the 3.5" end of the y-pipe then the Flowmaster 3.5" to 3" reducer then a 12" section of 3" pipe that is expanded on both ends so that the cut 3" intermediate pipe can mate to the 3" reducer.

Now, I only used this 12" section because I already had it. The better choice is a standard 3" to 3" sleeve that's about 4" long.
