happy monday.

here's a picture of a 9 month old wolfdog rescue (hes the same age as Keona) my friend Jerry in East Texas, Lone Wolf kennels, took in last week. you can see it in his eyes...he was terrified of Jerry, Jerry's wife had no prblem at all........ thats the way Shelby, the 8 yr old Golden Retriever that mary rescued and transported Sat was with me... when she first saw me.. she looked at me just like this, "please dont hurt me"...... with 15 min......Shelby was pawing at me and trying to climb in my lap.

damn people...............we need strickter laws in this country about the ownership of annimals.......

I agree. You wonder sometimes why people get animals at all if they aren't going to care for them properly. And then if they abuse them, that's even worse.

I often wonder how they treat their kids! There's
a reason we have so many screwed up people around.

Nice work in the shelters. BTW sent a little
something down to Full Moon Farms. Keep spreading
the word, or people will forget.

I had a queensland that I rescued from the hills a long time ago. It took 24 hours for her to trust me, after that she never left my side...until she got hit by a car while crossing the road in front of me. It was a country road at a ranch were I was working. She always stayed within about a 100ft circle of me. I was going through the gate and she went up ahead of me. Out of no where a car came speeding down the road.

I took her way up in the hills and buried where I had once rescued her from.

Never had a dog that close to me since.

IT devestates me when I see/hear stories like these Ken. Yet, it's great to hear positive stories as well coming from great people like you and others that DO make a difference for our canine friends. I, too, do not understand the thoughts and actions people go through to mistreat such beautiful animals. [Frown]

That is sad...reminds me of our German Shorthaired Pointer. She was abused for the majority of her first two years of life. The people we got her from had purchased her from a breeder as a bird hunting dog. Her first time out, the gun shot spooked her and she took off. Instead of working with her, the owner just stuck her in the back yard and let the kids pull on her ears etc. His plan was to breed her when the time came, and then kill her [Mad]
She was a wreck when we took her in. Took her a month to fully trust me and over a year to walk up to a stranger on her own. She is now 8 and is the most loving, well behaved, loyal dog I know. I can't imagine not having her around. Not sure how anyone can ever dream of mistreating or killing such loyal companions.

Ken,
I've never met you, but I've seen your many posts on this (and SLP's) board with regard to the dog/wolfdog rescues. You truely live by example with your dedication and support to these fine creatures , ...you should be commended for your efforts.
Isn't it sad, ...how loyal these creatures are to to some owners who turn out to be the real animals in the scheme of things. Some people just don't deserve to be pet owners...

Again, ...kudos to you for your efforts.

Kevin

Good looking wolf dog you rescued. Too many people out there do not deserve any kind of animal.I hope that dog gets a great home soon! [Smile]
