I installed the T/A bezel that I bought in BG this morning. Very easy. The hardest part was getting the lint and dust out of the new one before installing it. I went to wal-mart and bought the can of compressed air in the computer section to make sure it was dust free. One tip I have is to lower the steering column first to get the plastic trim off around the cluster. The bezel covers the symbols for gas, battery, oil, and temp., no big deal. I think it looks much better. Posted by blkragss02 (Member # 1801) on :

Ditto nice job!
Bob,once the lower dash insulator panel, lower IP panel below the steering column and the knee bolster is removed, there is a couple of bolts that are verticle that bolt the steering column to the IP support. This whole process may take you 5-10 minutes. Posted by Robbie-97SS2902 (Member # 206) on :

Thanks. There is a bracket with 2 bolts that I took off to access the column bolts easier. Probably less than 5 minutes for all 4 bolts. I loosened the column bolts almost to the end of the threads, not completely out. Anyone can do this, not hard at all.

I put mine in a couple of days before Bowling Green. Those that have seen it, like it ...myself included.
I managed to get it in without dropping the steering column but I sure can understand how that would make it easier.

I'll get around to doing mine one of these days. I'm definitely glad I picked it up in BG.

Looks good Rob. Makes a big difference. I also changed out my overlay with silver and had carbon fiber coating put on the TA bezel.

I installed my bezel a while back and if I remember right, there are two main bolts holding the column up that you can loosen to get the clearance you need. It's a simple job.

Yea, have a garage but once the SS is inside I can't open the door of the car to the full open position without hitting the wall. Rain let up yesterday and I was able to install the white face gauges and the bezel. Looks good, took pictures of it going in but have to get the film developed. Take care, Ralph Posted by JFsport01 (Member # 1374) on :
Excellent tip about lowering the steering column. I changed mine today after receiving the T/A Bezel from Specmo, the vendor that makes them for GM. Just lower the column down, unscrew the tilt lever and you can get started. Plenty of room to avoid scratching the new bezel with the clips of the surround. Thanks to all who gave the good tips!
