Anyone recall when I asked last spring about those iron-on transfers, was thinkinga bout making me some custom tshirts, just for fun? Well, ive been playing around with them today, and came up with something intersting. THat old honda civic and mountain dew picture, is now smack dab in the middle of a tshirt.
One of the problems I had was that the white background is obviously a different color of white than the white t-shirt. IN addition, if you print something out on the white transfer sheet, and you put it on a colored shirt, it looks frumpy. I found a solution: put a border around the edge of your words or pictures. Then, when you cut the sheet before you apply it, just trim around the outside of the border. The color of hte border somewhat hides the fact that you have an ink-jet graphic on your chest (or back, whatever). The border not only works well if you have a white transfer sheet on a white shirt, but also works very well if you have a white sheet on a gray, blue, or other colored shirt.
That aside, the transfer sheet looks good, and works well. Im not sure how it will hold up over time, but will let you know.
