Brought home the SS last night. SLP long tubes with race pipes (from tbyrne Motorsports) and I have the SLP Loudmouth exhaust.
Holy smokes! As I headed north on I-75 to go back home, I was temped to turn around and head south to Talladega.
I don't know how people can complain this setup is too loud. Maybe for a daily driver. The idle is slightly louder, and the lower RPM's have a bit more growl. Once you hit the power band around mid RPM's it just screams like a wild beast unleashed.
I can feel the loss in backpressure, but I don't notice a loss in acceleration in the low end. In fact, I had a hard time judging my speed based on the feel of the car now. I looked down and I was going faster then I thought. Before I had driven the car enough that I could judge how fast I was going based on the feel.
I'm very happy with this. My neighbors call the SS the black monster. Wonder what the new name is going to be.

Kewl good luck with the LT's!! Wish I could get em, damn Bilsten suspension, lol. but thats ok. is there any long tube headers that will work with bilsten suspension?

I have SLP Longtubes with the Bilstein. Have had them on for over a year and have not scraped them. I have even been forced to drive over speed bumps and have had no problems.

SLP LTs and Bilstein here too. I love it! I went with the high flow cats and now I wish I would have gone witht he ORPS
My car with the CME, high flow cats and SLP LTs is quieter than it was withthe manifolds from idle to moderate throttle. Out back it sounds sweet, but I'm usually in the driver's seat Posted by sscamaro (Member # 1330) on :
FLP LT headers seem to work better with a lowered car. They are not as low as the SLP headers.

thankx for the info ShootrSS, SSHEETS an sscamaro just heard ppl comment on the very low pipes,and would prob cringe if i heard it get scraped, heh. I deffinately look forward to buying them in the future when i get more money. thankx alot! the LM exaust will still be on too.

I also have the same setup as you do SSEETS. My driver side cat is the lowest part of the system and it has a few scrapes on it. As far as the sound goes, it is quieter than the stock manifolds at normal driving, but what a sweet sound when the pedal goes to the floor!
