Just picked-up my copy of Muscle Car Review. (Fall 03, pg 53.) in it, Berger Chevy ran an add to sell a limited edition Camaro. Similar to the 70 Baldwin Motion Camaro. Has any one seen this and could comment more? I went to Bergers website and they don't reference anything to the "Motion" Camaro. The add in the mag. says to contact Dennis Barker, etc.

When I was at the Berger Chevrolet All Chevrolet Show last month,I saw what looked like an drawing of a Baldwin Motion Camaro that was in Dennis' office.I wished I had taken a picture of that. Posted by 380SS (Member # 2078) on :
That might be the same picture running in this add on page 53.

Yes Berger is putting together this car. Final design was still being debated as of the last conversation I had with Dennis.
Hopefully not spilling rumors.
Plans are to build 20 (but I see now 25) Baldwin Motion Camaros. Colors are limited. There will only be a handful custom painted due to the lack of available black Camaros. Use the 2002 Sunoco Camaro body kit. I think there are 2 engines, the C5 427 @ 600HP and a supercharged version rated at 700 HP.
From what I have heard and knowing how much my Berger cost these cars are all going to be pushing the $100,000 mark, and we all thought the ZL1 was expensive!

They will be awesome Camaros! Looks like Gib will need to get one to round off his collection. Posted by RagSS (Member # 1127) on :

I received an email from Dennis just last week in it he stated the motion program was dead, but Berger was going to make a Camaro with GMMG help into a Sunoco type that was at BG.

I was under the impression at BG that there might be some problems trying to get the two sides to see eye to eye. More one than the other though.
It's a shame that the program couldn't be done, but you can't win them all. Posted by 380SS (Member # 2078) on :
Any one have any pics of this 02 sunoco body style?

Does anyone know if the Sunoco Camaro front clip is available at all? I love the look of that, would make any SS look even more intimidating. Posted by Xsta Z 28 (Member # 740) on :

No - the body kit is a custom one off creation for the car. Berger/GMMG have permission from GM to re-create it, at a VERY large expence - I know the cost! Posted by jeffsz28 (Member # 2128) on :
when will these cars be ready so we can see pictures of them........

Unfortunately, the Baldwin plan has been scrapped. Here is the email I received from Dennis in regards to the Baldwin Motion Camaro:
The current Camaro project offered by Berger Chevrolet, with the Motion theme has been canceled. Due to styling and performance issues, we will not continue our relationship with Joel Rosen and Motion Performance on this project. However, we have the vehicles and will continue with this Camaro project, and when we have a name and or theme we will be announcing it on our website and make a press release regarding the new theme and or name of the project. We are working with GMMG and Chevrolet to produce this special Camaro and will have very exciting news to announce very soon. Berger Chevrolet regrets what has happened with the Motion theme and want to thank Mr. Rosen for his effort in trying to do a modern Motion Camaro with us.
Some of the following information is all that we can release right now, but if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me here at the dealership or by my cell phone. We will keep your email address so we can notify you of the new project direction when it becomes available. Thank you again for your interest in Berger Chevrolet and our products.
Here are a few items currently planned for this project:
* GM's Special "Woodard Dream Cruise / Sunoco Camaro" wide-body panels will be exclusive on all vehicles (thus no conv. will be available). The cars will be built in hardtops and t-tops only.
* 427 C5R 600HP Motors will still be optional
* Automatics, specially built by GM for this project and 6 speeds will be available.
* 12 bolt rear ends will be standard upgraded equipment on this project
* Special interiors will be standard and optional . . . and much much more . . .
We will be working with a great team to produce these Camaro's and they will be some of the COOLEST and most sought after Camaro's ever built. The cars projected cost will be in the $100-$115 K range we believe. Again, if you have any questions please CALL ME at the numbers below or e-mail me. I will respond as quickly as possible.
Thank you, Dennis Barker Camaro Project Manager Berger Chevrolet

Sounds like a very interesting project and going to be perhaps the most expensive 2002 Camaros ever produced. Posted by WD,30th SS#727 (Member # 107) on :
My understanding is that Berger had some questions about liability due to the fact that Joel Rosen's plan for the motion cars was the 427 , supercharged w/ nitrous. There were also differences regarding the paint scheme.

The drawing in Muscle Car Review looked sweet! I was thinking a silver with black Motion stripes or the dark green metallic with white stripes woulda been awesome!! Ah well, too rich for my blood anyway. I'll stick with the Hawk!

The magazine only has a drawing of what it would have looked like. IMO it looked a lot better than the Sunoco Camaro.
