Well within the next few months I will be joining the ranks of the unemployed and have decided to move to Sparks NV. My biggest problem is how to get my car there. My truck won't tow it and it's too far to drive it. Anyone ever have your camaro hauled cross country? Enyone know who I could even trust to do this? Thanks

Check out bluehighways.net This guy has beautiful equipment and is a former sprint car driver in Iowa. They have been in business a long time and have a good reputation. At least it will give you a place to compare prices.

When I bought my SS last year it was a ways away. I had A AAAdvantage Auto Transport out of Tempe AZ transport my car. They were nice to deal with and did as promised. They delivered it to the closest parking lot near me so I could walk over and pick up the car. When I got there the car was already out of the truck and spotless. Had 20 miles on it when it left the dealer lot and had 20 miles on it when it arrived. The driver and I bs'd for a while. He said he mostly did Ferrari's and Lamborghini's and such. You can also try Intercity Lines (www.intercitylines.com), 1-800-221-3936 I had a car shipped (interestingly enough) from Nevada to NY, ...$1000, door to door. If you don't need the car shipped on an exact date, you'll get the cheaper rate since they will be filling a truck and travelling on their schedule (ie. "Stand-By rate). The rates may be higher now (looks like $1299) (I had my '67 pace car shipped about 6-8 years ago), but check Hemmings Motor News (or other sources) for possible specials they may run. (On their own website, ..."Snowbird Special"...) They were extremely professional, ...no problems at all, ...and I may be using them again myself, (to ship another 1st gen back east)

All good choices! Here's another one to add to the mix. I used these folks to ship my '92 Z28 to it's new home:
I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the large carriers, just make sure you get an enclosed transport.

I just used Reliable to get my SS from CA to CT.....they were awesome & very helpful. They even arrived earlier than when they anticipated. Call their MI location & ask for John (that's who I worked through at the suggestion of SLP)
Just for reference, they shipped my SS enclosed w/ no moves in transit (basically, my car stayed in the spot it was loaded into). Delivered in 15 days for $1400.

Anything enclosed is going to cost more $$ then an open carrier... if your out of work you may want to look at open transport since they are less. When I have been moved for work "they" used "DAS" (dependable auto shippers). They did fine with my "other" cars. The ones I had shipped though were not as special as the SS though and on the next move my cars will probably go the enclosed route...
