Question: is this system louder than the SLP LM? how is the drone/cabin resenance at freeway speeds?

How much louder is you Berger with headers compared to one without? I ask because I have GMMG's exhaust but I don't want to get headers if it is going to be to much louder, Thanks

I was told there was going to be a group purchase for the GMMG exhaust. I have put it off waiting for it. I guess I need to go ahead and order it now. No group deals? This is all I lack on Julie. Jim

It's on!!~~All I have to say is
2Hrs, start to sweep up~~Lots of prying to get the D/D off but not that bad.
I'm so happy with the GMMG system I have to put a couple more in!

Now that a few more people have the GMMG exhaust, how loud is it really. I want it but am afraid it'll be the last straw with the neighbors. I go to work at 5:15 AM, they don't go to work until 8 AM. Am I going to wake them up every morning that I drive the SS. They're not car people and they already think I'm nuts with my 3 toys (68 Camaro SS/RS L-78, 02 Camaro SS, 96 Impala SS), but they still treat me fairly nice. The 68 is LOUD but it does not go to work, the Impala has a Borla catback on it and is not loud at all. Right now the 02 Camaro still has the base SLP exhaust on it.
Will the GMMG exhaust be too loud?
Bob

You don't have to do a John Force burnout when leaving your driveway. Seriously the GMMG Chambered exhaust is not really that loud at all at idle, and does make a little growl when 1st started cold. Posted by sscamaro (Member # 1330) on :
Here is a picture of the GMMG w/round tips on my 02 SS.
That looks SSweet...I bet it sounds even SSweeter. I am trying to get Mamma to let me spend $$$ on one of these jems for my 35th LE.
I have the SLP DD exhaust on mine now. What kind of exhaust were you running originally? Did you get a noticeable difference in the volume of your exhaust tone? What about SOP difference after the installation of the GMMG chambered exhaust?
Thanks for sharing the pics.

I had D/D exhaust on mine and this is louder and has a deeper rumble, but not too loud! SOP is better, but it might be because it sounds so sweet. This is one mod to do if you have the cash! Posted by MOO4340 (Member # 471) on :
Now, the next thing you will want to do is put a good polish job on it...Mine was done three year ago...still looks as good today as it did then... I use the stock SS tips on mine...kind of a sleeper...with the big ole tips, people kind of expect something, but with the stock ones, har, har, har..... KICKBACK 2000SS Coupe Dark Blue. I guess I should chime in here. I was waiting till I got all my bugs worked out, but here it is. The good, the bad and the ugly
I purchase a gmmg exhaust after the BG gathering to replace the slp cme muffler. Couldn't turn the price down. After talking to Matt at BG, he thought the cme tips would mount right up on his exhaust exits. That didn't work. In the mean time I broke the tips in half at the weld trying to force the elbows in further . So I had them re-welded and the welder screwed that up. The angle they are suppose to be in now is just straight across.
Anyways, I still went ahead and had a muffler shop bend me two new elbows to mount the tips to. Thats when I noticed how bad the welder did. So I figure this next weekend I will take them off and have them re-welded to match the valence angle. BUT TODAY, it was beutiful here in WNC and let the wife drive it. The tips fall off going down the road. They survived, just scratch up on the bottom. Now since they are off, I plan on polishing them back up, then back to have them remounted. Enough of the story from hell..
Now, how do they sound? MUCH louder. Idle, you can hear the car. Cruising as well. accelerating, its loud. Much louder than the slp cme muffler. Also, since the exhaust comes together in the rear, I think it sounds different than if it exited on each side.
I like it, but just down about the whole cme thing. I hope it works out at the end
Anyone else have the gmmg and cme together?
Will let ya know ow this thing unfolds.

I also have an '02 (vert too )with D/D. I've been considering GMMG for a while, but hoping it's not 'too' loud. I looks awsome
Ques1: Do you have a stock OR SLP Y-pipe? (I noticed a slightly 'throatier' sound after installing the SLP Y-pipe on my stock D/D) Ques2: When you installed the GMMG, did you connect at the Y-pipe output?, ...OR was it possible to 'tie-in' at the over-the-axle connection (that the D/D has)?
I definitely want that 'rumble' but don't want it obnoxiously loud...
Thanks, Kevin

Kevin, You heard mine this year at BG with the cats on. Was that too loud? The GMMG connects to your Y-pipe.
Bob, where the pipes even? My right side was a little lower than the left side. I had a muffler shop heat the strip that goes between the chambers so I could bend it to get them even.

Yes, the pipes were even, yours might have got bent a little during shipping. As for them being too loud, I guess it is a matter of preference, if you like the musclecar sound then it isn't too loud. The tipds are SS, but are highly polished and look like chrome
