I wonder where this Chevy dealer got that information? Some people may actually believe that and may be mislead.

I'm no expert, but I remember reading somewhere that of the Brickyard 500 cars, a small number actually circled the track during the race, maybe its one of those?

So how many Brickyard cars were made?? Were they all convertables? And seeing as I am on the subject...how many 35ths were made in total? And what is the breakdown of Hardtop, convertable and did they make any plain Z28 35ths? I have never seen one. Thanks

I think there was around 40 to 50 brickyard cars built. Ask Greg, One was a t-top model vin#2 and the rest were verts.

Here is a break down on the 35th SS:
2002 35th Anniversary Camaro SS Limited Edition
“Z4C” Build Counts

609 Convertibles with “MN6” 6-speed Manual Transmission

789 Convertibles with “MX0” Automatic Transmission

Total of 1,398 Convertibles

934 Coupes with Removable Roof Panels and “MX0” Automatic Transmission

1,037 Coupes with Removable Roof Panels and “MN6” 6-speed manual Transmission

Total of 1,971 Coupes

GRAND TOTAL OF 3,369 35TH ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION CAMARO SS WITH OPTION RPO “Z4C”

3,000 TO THE UNITED STATES

369 TO CANADA

There were no Z28's with the 35th package built. All were SS.

There was 45 original numbered Brickyard 400 35th Anniversary LE Camaro SS' built and 2 that were not numbered which were VIN #1 and VIN #2.Brickyard 400 #37 was totalled out while still in Indy, not too long after the Brickyard 400 event. All were convertibles except for VIN #2.It was a T-Top and the only one to be a 6 speed. It was built with a stock GM exhaust but later on the exhaust got damaged during transport and a SLP CME exhaust was added.VIN #1 and VIN #2 were the cars used in most of the GM advertising. They also paced the Parade Laps at the Brickyard 400 and were strobe light equipped. The Fbodfather is taking ownership of VIN #2. [Cool]

Here is VIN #1 (No Brickyard 400 #)

That dealership is in my home town. I fly back there for Turkey Day, maybe I'll pay them a visit to see this car. I doubt they'll sell it for what they are asking.

I have pictures of that Brickyard 400 #5 from last years Tom Henry Camaro Mania Show. I think they are in my webshots or netsnapshot account.I actually tried to buy that car before I purchased mine and was told the dealer owner was going to keep it for his collection. [Smile]

Greg is correct. I own Brickyard #2, which is not the same as VIN #2;but,is the same as SLP #96. I think that this should clear up any confusion concerning this subject. [Roll Eyes]

Got an answer from the posting on Ebay for the Camaro, he's his reply. Honest mistake.

<<this car was on the track but i have to apologize for the mistake in the
listing, there where 45 of these cars total. My general manager knows the
camaro head honcho for gm thats how we scored this car.>>

Hey thanks for all that info and pics! You guys go well above and beyond the call of duty here. They sure made a helluva lotta 35th SS's! But compared to all the 30th's its close to the same. Thats if you count Z28's and SS's. Where were these pics Taken? I remember a fellow who had a rare 30th Brickyard SS car with T-roofs. There was only like 1 of those made as well. I forget his name but he was from MI. and would come to the Ontario shows we had. Nice guy he was and hope he is still around and meet him again next year. I guess thats where I started to fall in love with this car I have now. I'm glad it is a little rarer then the 35th's....Sorry guys. Hey did you see all the Johnny Lightning cars in them pics? I got a pile of them too [Smile] !

Those rear side markers are actually a strobe light with a different lens and housing.I don't know who made those but would like to find a set. There are 2 small screws that hold the lens to the housing. [Cool]

That guy from Michigan with the 30th Anniversary Brickyard 400 added those decals. That car is a clone Brickyard 400 and its build date is after the Brickyard 400 event. He always shows it in the Pace Car Classes at the different shows. He used someones VIN and car # to buy the decals. That 30th is very nice for a trailer queen and has very low miles. There are only 2 of the real 30th Anniversary Z28 Brickyard 400 coupes and both are equipped with strobe lights.GM has one and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum has the other. All of the Brickyarde 400 Festival/Parade cars were convertibles.

Here is the clone Brickyard 400

Here is one of the real Pace Cars and the one that actually paced the race.

a clone Brickyard car eh? [Roll Eyes] Hmmm...i never did know that. So where are all these beautiful cars I'm seeing here hanging out at?

Some of these babys are hidden... Scotts car is in storage.... the GM 30th "Z" and VIN 1 are in storage at the GM collection. Last year the white and orange Z was on display at GM's World Headquarters for the pace car display. I'm not if it has been out since then....
