Just a quick update - there has been a two week delay in the manufacture so they should now be ready in about two weeks. I received the SSOA logo from Teri and coupled with an SS logo (or other I suppose) it looks awsome.

I don’t want to make this sound like too much of a dumb question, but how are you all going to get this white face label on your speed-o units?

Wont these require removing the needles and if so won’t that screw up the calibration of your needles? i.e. tac could be off, etc... [Smile]

Rich, are these overlays or a replacement face? I have been wanting to do this mod for some time with some of Teri's decals, but I'm worried about disassembling the speedo and I heard the overlays aren't as bright as the stock face [Confused]

I put the White overlay from NR industries in. It is not that difficult to install and it looks great. and yes it is not as bright as the stock one but after a couple of weeks you do not notice it anymore...

They are a replacement face and not difficult. Kevin has a post with the details. The full faces are brighter than the overlays and if that's a concern, perhaps stronger bulbs will solve it.

Here's a link to the Thread when I did mine , I installed "full face" (TH gauges, ...thanks to TomH [Big Grin] ), ...and YES the needles do need to come off (You actually need to PEEL the OEM gauge face off the 'assembly', ...a bit of a scarey proposition, but...). There was a recent issue of "Camaro World" (WCA magazine) that covered (full) gauge face replacement, ...one key aspect of that was to take digital pictures of the gauges (with car at temp, etc.) and use those pictures as a reference when replacing needles.
As for "overlays" (as the name implies) you do not need to remove the needles, ...and I have heard that lighting is less with the overlays. As Rich mentioned, brighter bulbs could be added.
...Just mentioning the overlays, but I believe what Rich is talking about are FULL face.

Kevin

* EVER NOTICE,The indicator in on your gaUges, ...that says, "CHECK GAGES", ...we seem to all spell it "gauges". (I know it's an alternate spelling, but just interesting...)

For gauges, I hemmed and hawed for a long time and this summer decided to go with the MacEwen silver overlays. I had read the concerns about losing 20% of the instrument light with the overlays, so I ordered his Xenon white ultra bright 194 bulbs as well (same stock illumination color, 2x brightness).

Came out amazing. The only thing I dislike with MacEwen is that the gauge icons for the 4 minor gauges do not light at night. What can you do... I am interested to see these NR Silver Gauges, though.

Links to pics of my Macewens with the Xenon bulbs: (the gauges are actually brighter than stock, they are really nice)
