This morning I was sitting in my truck listening to the news and drinking my morning coffee like I have done for years in my work parking lot. This BOZO parks next to me with a new but beat up Taurus wagon and flings his rear door open into the bed of my truck.I had my window down at the time and said "hey, you just flung your door into my truck!". The idiot just says,"it will be ok". I told him "there is nothing OK about you giving me a door shot with your piece of crap Taurus".He never said that he was sorry.Just wait until I drive the Suburban to work. What an idiot! You did good to maintain. It just boils down to the lack of respect people have for each other and others property...

Like they say Paybacks are a Bi***. Take the Suburban park as close as you can to the drivers door with a note that says:
You left a door ding in my other truck I wanted to make sure you didn't damage this one Also .

You've got more self control than I have.

Oh, I have stories about my younger days in this area. You handled it a lot better than me. Grace was horrified one time, she didn't know there was that side of me when we got married. Of course, I am older and more controlled now! Yea right!

I hate that - we all have stories about that.

Greg, I have kicked in fenders for this. Not exactly something I am proud of but there have been a few times where I have found dings in my car (not my SS) or someone parked REALLY close and I have lost it. One instance there was a Chevy 1 ton dually parked literally just a few inches from our Tahoe. I couldn't get my hand between the two vehicles. I left a nice footprint in his rear fender.

This happened to me back in 1970. I had just painted my 55 Chevy. I went to a mall and found a space away from the other cars. Just then a car parks aside of me. Opens their door and bangs my car. I said to them "You just banged my car with your door". They said "Well its an old car anyway". I could of killed them. So much for idiots.

i hate that. if it was my SS, i would have been spiting flames. and if enough visible damage was done, i would have gotten their insurance info. that is why i am looking for a daily driver that i dont care if i get the occasional door ding. but even in that car, i would still tell the people to be careful.
sorry man.

I drove the Suburban to work today and it figures this Bozo drove a Mercury Villager instead of his Taurus.Yesterday I went outside to check the truck in the daylight and there is a nice spot of paint missing. Posted by Brians-SS (Member # 1988) on :
man, that sux the moron should be beaten, tarred and feathered. i hate ppl who ding other doors on purpose
some idiot parked right next to the white line, his door tapped my side molding twice. iwas like wth!!!?? and he smiled and waved his hand at me as if to say it was ok. so i had to move my car due to the jerk. i swear, some people have no respect for others property. thank god he only touched the molding, and there was no dents or scratches from what i could see, but i have his licence plate #

never had to with a door ding. but i would think it would fall under the same category as a rock chip from a truck. i have had to file those claims before and had them approved.

Nope - it is part of the operation of a vehicle and can be charged to his insurance. Not the same as a rock chip at all.

oh ok, just so long as it can be charged to his ins. that was what i was trying to get at. bad explaination on my part. thanks Brian.
