We in the Chicago area are expecting temps in the 70's for the next 3 days, so i am putting off the storage to enjoy the SS feeling for now!

Have the Insurance to drop on the 1st when the policy renews . BUT since it will be warm the next few days and no rain I will get it out once more . And besides where I park at work they have a masDA display set up SO its MY duty to take the SS to work and show them what a Real car looks like Posted by DanPazich (Member # 1352) on :
Heck no! I drive my car all 365 days of the year!! Even in deep snow, and blizzards. Of course, it's my only car and i'm 22. Posted by cytruffle (Member # 1733) on :

Pushing my storage plans off another weekend or two myself...wife is out of town this weekend, so it's me, the open road and perhaps a butt whoopin' or two . Of course, now I need somewhere to go .

I'd like to point out that comments like these, which we may find humorous right now, tend to reveal the ugly side of some of us when our cars are put away, we "enjoy" about 5 hours of daylight ....per day, and the mercury is hovering somewhere under the -20 mark You've been warned
BTW ... the warning comes from poSSum the Wintergpegger, not poSSum the moderator. Posted by HTWLSS (Member # 117) on :

See, he's getting cabin fever already and the snow has barely begun to fall!!!
Don't worry, Art. We'll suffer through the winter together. We have to deal w/gray skies, wet ground and non-stop rain from here to June. At least you get sunshine and bright, reflective snow. Posted by DarkSde (Member # 2012) on :

It's an even trade off in my eyes poSSum... while I don't get your winters... you don't have to deal with 115 in the summers. I won't rub it in once the white stuff hits you Posted by KurtK (Member # 1779) on :

Try a SAD lamp!!!! The winter/lack of sunlight/cold has a tremendously negative effect on me. It's called "Seasonal Affective Disorder" - and it's for real! My wife, out of desperation in trying to live under the same roof with me in the winter, bought me one of these lamps about 6 yrs. ago and it has been a godsend! I sit in front of it for 1/2 hr. a day (started a few days before turning the clock back to build up a bit of a cushion). This really helps mr keep my sanity! At some point during the 3rd or 4th week in March, I'll wake up in the morning and I'll be able to tell that I don't need the lamp anymore until the following October.
Cheers,
Elie

Mine gets stored about 330+ days a year. Only cause I live and work overseas.

To combat this, we take a trip over the Cascade Mountain range to Central/Eastern Oregon. The crisp, cool, high desert air and sunshine are just the ticket once a month or two during the dreary, wet, gray winter in NW Oregon.

Mine gets "stored" year round
First I drive to this store and then I drive to that store and......well you get the idea!
Sorry NORTHERNERS.......you have to move south (or be brave in the snow) if you want to drive year round.

The car is stored for the Winter, but the ol'two plankers are sharpened, waxed and ready to accelerate at ridiculous speeds! Posted by Buddy (Member # 1698) on :
Stored for the winter...well sort of. It stays stored all year, cause I don't have room for both at the house. The wife get's her side of the garage, so that only leaves one side for me, and the '70Z stays here.
Getting it out tomorrow though for a long morning ride. The weather is perfect this weekend.
I just got back from a local cruise-in with the Z tonight, so I'll get my "SS fix" in the morning. Posted by ss_rs_z (Member # 1888) on :
I just stored the SS yesterday and the IROC will be stored today. Fuel staibilizer is in and will be in the IROC today. Looks like a long winter. Posted by MaryandRalph (Member # 244) on :
Normally it is done by now. Weather has been nicer this fall so I may end up doing it next weekend. Posted by lrdvadr (Member # 1382) on :
Fuel stabilizer in this morning. Trickle charger, car cover, and garage planned for later this afternoon.

Just take off your touque, put on your flannies, sit down on the chesterfield, open a bottle of brew, and watch the hockey game (there's one on TV every night). And, oh ya, and if you make a mess, you can clean it up with your serviette. Posted by cytruffle (Member # 1733) on :
LMAO!!!!
OK....lessee:
touque = hat? flannies = pj's? chesterfield = either sofa or cigarettes!? brew = I DO know that one!! hahaha!! hockey = shuffleboard on ice serviette = French maid?

Hey I've had my car for 2 years and no matter how bad the winter is there will be a day where the streets are clean and dry. On those days the Unit will be driven.
Crisp winter days they never run than on days like that.
