I hate her guts but got to agree with her[UGHHHH],CBS wimped out !!!!
Posted by 35th6spd (Member # 1243) on :
I hate that woman...she says, CBS is being strongarmed into not showing a "movie", not a documentary,, BS it is a movie about a real person making allegedly true commentary about and even statements said by him...commentary that is completely false! The First Amendment does not give you the right to slander or defame someone, just like it doesnt allow you to yell fire in a crowded movie theater
Posted by TimeLord (Member # 1389) on :
If that is true, then it should be aired as a Reality Show like Survivor or Millionaire or Loft Story the most UNrealistic shows on TV.
P.S.// To bad Reagan isn't around now, things would probably be running smoother,he had CHARISMA !!!!!

She and her kind just can't get over the fact that people are no longer brainwashed by the liberal left media....well, smart people anyway.

What a slimeball.
She compares it to the Kennedy movie which aired oh, say about what 30+ years after his death. Ronald Reagan (a great man) is on his death bed dying from a horrible disease while his wife has to watch him dye... and Barbara Streisand is miffed because her stupid slanderous, fictional and character assasinating "movie" won't be aired? Typical.
At least she and her type should allow the man to die with his dignity. Of course, her argument might be, "Hey, he has altzheimers. He won't know we're defaming his character anyway."

People who own their own jet, and criticize people who own SUV's accusing them of "supporting terrorism", dont make valid points. You cant get credibility for one topic after you flush your credibility on another.
Although, I personally think that since the Reagans movie has impolite stuff that is completely made up, and totally contrary to the truth, that it is more of a slander for entertainment purposes than anything else.
I dont think that sort of thing is right. I also agree with what Mark said. They should at least wait until he passes on before something like this. Of course, since she has close relations with the actor who plays Regan, I assume they stand to lose some money over it. But hey, it wouldnt be america if a celebrity with a nose big enough to serve as an airplane runway cant throw around political non-sense out of frustration from losing money, and the sudden realization that your life's work of music all makes Yanni sound like Elvis Presley...

The only thing I like about her opinions is the fact that our Constitution protects her right to say what she wants, even if it is brainwashed-liberal-freakshow BS.
I don't agree 100% with either side of the isle... I certainly lean more toward the right than left, but I think I'm like the majority of Americans: center of the road, or in one lane or the other... Babs is off the pavement stuck in mud in the left drainage ditch. Crackpot. Posted by jimb0 (Member # 176) on :

...that was Arianna Huffington that made that statement, not Barbara, and she seems to have plenty of credibility...at least as much as Arnold...
So what you're saying is that it's OK for the religious right or the moral majority or any other faction that does not represent me or you to censor and dictate what we watch on TV or read or listen to. Seems like a lot of hypocrites and two-faced people here. I just wonder what the reaction here would have been if someone like say Rush Limbaugh had made a similar statement. No, I don't have to wonder, I think I pretty much know what the reaction would be...

HA!!!
My hatred of Ms Princess Streisand goes WAY back to when I was 13...long before I ever heard of politics.
Nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains down the road from where I grew up is a retreat (fat farm) called Ashram. The rich and famous would go there to have their @sses run off in the mountains and eat greens to lose weight while doing Yoga to cleanse themselves.
I worked there to support my hobby of Motocross when I was a kid. I was a "helper boy", watering trees, washing cars, stuffing envelopes, grounds maintenence...etc etc etc.
One day I was out front watering trees and Ms. Streisand appeared. Me not being one to go ga-ga over stars even to this day, I treat them like anyone else when I would meet one. I said to her, "Hello, how are you today?".
What happened next is something that stayed with me. The look she gave me was unbelieveable, like I was some 3rd world parasite who had the unmitigated nerve to speak to her. She didn't respond at all verbally. She turned and walked back in the home. Mind you, im 13 years old and I knew even then that people should not treat other people that way.
I have hated her ever since...
I met plenty of other famous people there and around our area. They use to film CHiPS and Charlies Angels and all sorts of other movies and TV shows out by us. Everyone of those other stars were wonderful people to meet.
BS is a Grade A Bit(h if you ask me.

Got to agree. One of my boys works for a casting company that does TV commercials & movies. He's met a lot of the big names, and says the same thing. Some of these 'stars' are great down-to-earth & friendly people, while a few let their fame go right to their heads.

...well I personally don't care for her one bit either, but I thought the point of your original post was due to the content of her statement...
Sounds to me like you're letting your personal feelings toward her influence your critique of what she had to say...

Nope...my last post was just showing the reason I don't like her as a person.
My original post takes issue with how completely detached from reality this woman is in the political arena.
I assure you, both are seperate opinions but equally negative.

I agree, censorship isn't really desirable, but making movies made up of untrue factoids that appear as documentaries sucks for everyone depicted. As an example, I recall everyone associated with the band, "The Doors", saying how untrue Oliver Stone's depiction of Jim Morrison (Val Kilmer) was in the movie of the same name, made about a decade ago. I *still* hear people talk about Morrison in terms of "facts" from the movie, when they just aren't true. And then there's Michael Moore's "Bowling For Columbine", an alleged documentary that won and academy award... totally farcical.
Maybe that's part of becoming a celebrity, but it sucks if it happens to you. I can imagine it now... When I become a famous elitist some day, they're going to say I drove a $#&*@@# ricer with a towel rack spoiler, fart can exhaust and alteeza tail lights! Posted by AndromedaSS (Member # 397) on :
Hey whats up all.. I too dislike Barbra Streisand.. ah well... good thing she's got soldiers overseas fighting for her right to say whatever she wants...
