The stuff about the new Welly SOM model got me to take some pictures. I really need one of those! Anyway, here's what I've got so far. I really give the Sunset Orange spraypaint a workout. The biggest one is the HPI remote control, the middle one is the Welly that I took apart and painted, and the little one is the Revell kit (which I spent by far the most time on--especially after I made the open T-tops). Anyway, here's some pics:

It's an HPI Nitro-powered remote control kit. You can buy them at most R/C hobby stores. It's about $300 for the kit, then you need the paint and the fuel and the glow plug ignitor and all of that. Then if you're really into it you can buy high-performance engine parts and suspension and tires and wheels -- just like a real car! Mine is "stock," just like my real car (lol) but as it is it will still run about 40 MPH with smoke pouring out of the little exhaust in the door.
On the kit, I made the CME by cutting off the tailpipes and fitting pieces out of my model parts boxes to make it curve around and look like the tips. The facia was made by cutting off the bottom of the bumper on another model and fitting it up to that bumper. It actually turned out pretty well in real life. The picture kind of makes it look more disjointed to me.

Yeah, like Steve and Cyrus did w/their R/C cars......and then see what happens when they go out of range at full throttle. (It ain't pretty, and neither one of them have had their cars out since.)

Uh huh. I have trouble keeping this one in range in a big parking lot. I don't think I could be trusted with a hopped-up version.
