Ever since my LE was new, it would occasionally have a squeak somewhere in the undercarriage during the first drive of the day. After a few minutes, the squeak would go away. It was a little more pronounced during cold weather but I could live with it.

A week or so ago, it started squeaking with a vengeance. It would not go away and was loud enough that it was embarrassing. I took it in to the dealer (I think this was only the second time it has had to go in for anything since new) and they found the problem and fixed it. They replaced the "rear stabilizer insulators" because they found "poor machining".

The reason this may be important to other owners is that this made a dramatic improvement in the handling of the car. It no longer is as prone to follow ridges and ruts in the road and feels much more stable. [Big Grin]

I just thought this might be of help to someone.

The rear sway bar bushings has squeaked on my SS when I first got it.I lubed them and the squeak had been gone for almost 2 years now.That is a very commom problem.Glad to hear yours is fixed. [Smile]

Greg... this may be a stupid question, but what did you use to lube those bushings? Mine is squeaky like an s.o.b. and I tried some silicone lube but it only lasted about 100 miles or so.

Mike, I had the same problem. Brought it to the dealer, they lubed it, it was WORSE. [Mad]

Luckily, it is a great dealer and they gave it another go after consulting with chevy (and the engineers that worked with SLP b/c I have the Bilstein option), they:
R&R Sway bar Links and Cleaned and Applied TEFLON to Bushings.
NO MORE SQUEAKS, even in the cold weather. [Big Grin]

There are bushings with grease fittings on them. Every oil change put one shot of chassis grease in. They are made by Energy Suspension.

I did not have any urethane bushing lube but used some lithium grease. [Smile]
