New Day - New Week - let's get it off to a great
start. I love seeing that post about Skyline
Drive, makes me think that spring can't be too
far off!

Have a great day friends [Big Grin]

Monday morning ............. here we go again [Roll Eyes] [Roll Eyes] Hope y'all have a good day [Wink] [Wink]

The picture of the day ............... since we have been showing Pro/Stocks for the past few days, I'd like to include the gentleman I consider to be the greatest Pro/Stock driver of all time .................. the late Lee Shepherd

Lee Shepherd, along with his teammates David Reher and Buddy Morrison absolutely dominated Pro/Stock in the early '80's, winning four straight NHRA championships (1981-1984) and two IHRA championships (1983-1984) ........... Lee is the only man to ever hold the two championships at the same time .............. Shepherd won 26 NHRA National event titles and 10 IHRA titles .............. he was the first driver in the 7.8, 7.7, and 7.6 second zones in the NHRA and the first in the 7.5 and 7.4 second zones in the IHRA ............... during the 1981-1984 seasons, Lee's round win records looked like this

1981 NHRA - 34-6
1982 NHRA - 35-5 IHRA 7-2
1983 NHRA - 30-8 IHRA 21-3
1984 NHRA - 31-7 IHRA 28-2

That's 186 wins and 33 losses ......... an 85% win record

Lee also holds the absolute reaction time record for a season averaging .417 for the entire year of 1984 ( a .400 is a perfect light) ........... no one has ever come close to that record

In March of 1985, the shy, quiet spoken Texan was tragically killed in a testing accident at Ardmore, Oklahoma ................ and the world will never know what he could have accomplished
