As some of you may remember, I've been trying to replace my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I've had a lot of fun trying out everything from Volvos, Bimmers and Benz's, to Pacificas, Trailbrazers and most recently the Caddy SRX (& no Fords [Big Grin] ).
Well, I've just about made up my mind. Much to my surprise, it looks like I'm going with another Jeep Grand Cherokee. 0% financing, plus a big manufacturer's rebate, plus the supplier discount, plus a great relationship with the local D/Chrysler service department, all add up to an offer I just might not refuse. After three Grand Cherokees, I had made up my mind to go elsewhere since there's a lot of nice AWD & 4X4 vehicles out there. But Jeep is dangling a pretty big carrot in front of me.

I'll keep you posted.

The Hemi's planned to go into the '05 Jeep GC. I'm debating whether to go with the '04 and save lots of money, or go for the Hemi and pay for big HP. The '04 4.7 V8 is 265 HP and 345 ft/lb torque (0 to 60 in the 7's), while the Hemi's supposed to come in somewhere around 330 - 380 HP.

I think I'm going for the '04 and save big $ and use the savings to support my SS habit. [Big Grin]

Well, sounds like the 04 is very torqy if you pull boats and trailers and things, big question is... what are you going to use it for? If its a daily driver/ weekend tower, Id say you are probably better off going for the cheaper 04 model. If you have the money, and dont mind the wait for an 05, go for it. Since the 04 has 345 ftlbs torque, whats the 05 rated for? I assume around 400-410? If so, are you really going to need it?
