For the longest time I've tried to purchase a birth certificate from SLP for my 35th SSLE. My car was without any extras, so the card in my portfolio was not there. I called a few times and even asked at SLP day, but the responce was always.."It is only available if you buy the portfolio." A few weeks ago I was browsing the Camaro parts section on the SLP site and low and behold they now offer a replacement certificate separate. For the SS it is p/n: 11183 @$22.45. http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?PARTNUMBER=11183 Hope this helps......

"My car was without any extras, so the card in my portfolio was not there." Ditto for mine also. I'd like to but isn't there a long wait until the numbers are final, or is that just for the 35th LE numbers? I thought that was the problem with getting the SSOA LOA also.

It took two weeks to get mine. I think the delay on the LOA is that it has to be mailed to SLP, signed, and then returned back to Teri. Then it's mailed out to you.

That is very correct. Teri has done her part, and we are still waiting on SLP to get back with the letters, so we can get them mailed out. Please be patient. They will come eventually, we just dont know exactly when....... kinda out of our control.

That's nice to know the SLP Birth Certificate is available by itself. The rest of the Portfolio items are pretty cool though.
Now, to clarify the SSOA LofA issue........
I have given SLP the list of SSOA member cars to verify (it's a BIG list). Once they send the verified list back w/SS #, options, additional content, etc., I will merge the data onto LofA blanks and send them to SLP for signature. Then they are sent back to me for final distribution.
I am currently trying to get color separated artwork of the SLP logo so I can get another run of LofA blanks done at a print shop. I have not been successful in getting that artwork from SLP and it's going to cost money to have it made from scratch by a graphic artist.
I already have SSOA logo artwork (thanks to SwedenSS). Once I get SLP logo artwork, I can move forward with the print order. It hasn't been much of an issue yet because we don't have our verifications back from SLP. As soon as I know the verification list is on it's way, I can focus more energy on the LofA letterhead print job. Until then, I'm still trying to obtain the color separated artwork for the SLP logo.
Verifications are not dependent on the 2002 breakdowns. That's not the hold-up. The wait was due to SLP's restructuring and moving their data/servers to another location. It will be accessible in the near future, but it is not their top priority at this time because it is strictly on a volunteer basis and they don't have a lot of volunteer time to spare right now. I have not been pressuring them because of that reason. When they can do it, they'll do it. I know we're not forgotten. Until then, I'm mailing out packets of SSOA goodies w/out the LofA. The LofA's will follow after SLP's database is accessible again.
If anyone out there is a graphic artist and would like to help make a color separated SLP logo, please let me know. The old LofA's that have all been used up had the Performance Parts Maroon SLP logo on them. I'm hoping to use SLP Engineering's newest chrome-looking version seen on http://www.slpeng.com and modernize the look of the LofA. Adobe Illustrator is the software the printer uses.
If anyone has further questions on the SSOA LofA issue, feel free to post them in a new thread over in the "Where's my packet - Questions about SSOA membership" area of the forum.
