Just trying to clear up a point of discussion about the '97 LT4 SS... does anyone know if it was possible to walk into a dealer and order a 30th Ann. LT4 SS, or was this a dealer-ordered car only - given that there were just 102 of them made? TIA
Best regardSS,
Elie

technically, any dealer could order them but only a few nationwide actually got allocations for them.

I agree, think of the 35ths. Most dealers more only allowed one, and there were a lot more on them so placing an order and having it filled are two seperate things.

Since these were produced by SLP, not GM, dealer allocations had no effect. The only thing that mattered was, who had the money. Since only dealers technically order cars, only dealers could order them. If you mean did any dealers order them as a spec car, without a waiting customer order, I'm reasonably sure at least a few dealers ordred them that way, especially since some dealers had them on the floor longer than others.

From what I understand,in order for a dealer to recieve one 35th Anniversary LE they had to sell a certain number of camaros in 2001. So the more Camaros they sold the number of 35th Anniversary LE's they were allocated. Some dealers near me did not even recieve one 35th LE.

I heard about this car when I was buying my existing one. Does anyone know what the HP and TQ on this car were rated for? What was the original price?

by far, not a cheap car. Here's the dealer window sticker ($24,420.00) and slp second option sticker ($17,023.00)
we looked at getting car #50 back in 97. The dealer we went to had 2 LT4 cars in the showroom. Dealer wanted 10K over sticker then. Due to funds at the time we passed on getting the car. In July we were able to purchase car #69 for $30K. Car only has 67 miles. I think we got a killer deal
Lots of info about the car on LT4.com (site hasn't been updated in a few years, but lots of info) I believe 106 cars were produced. 1 was totalled by a dealership. Hopefully in a few more years this car will be our "Yenko" Posted by SS_CarGuy (Member # 2065) on :

You sure did get a good deal at 30K... ironically, I own car #0050, but its the 50th 1997 Anniversary SS produced, not an LT4 car. It IS a 6 speed coupe though... all I'm missing is the decal onthe rear and the red intake manifold... oh and all that extra HP! Posted by 01ss87iroc (Member # 1763) on :
That's awesome Teri. What a great deal. By the way, how many miles on the potential Yenko today?
