Just saw it on the news.Mad cow has been found in Washington State . According to the news it is a confirmed case.Hopefully they are not Lieing to us when they say it has not spread.

They said that the preliminary test is positive, however, they are sending a tissue sample to britain for a second, more accurate test.
Interesting fact: mad cow disease (its cause), is neither a bacterium or a virus. Its actually a long-chain protein, that has a chemical structure very similar to many common polymers.
It also has the unique property to replicate and repair itself, and so the mad-cow-protein is actually being used in research to develop plastics that are self-repairing. It uses raw materials found in the environment (a cows body) to produce more of itself. Interesting, since viruses do exactly the same thing, although they are not considered to be alive, more like nano-bots, but this mad-cow-protein is actually a long chain molecule that does a similar task. Kind of interesting, huh?
