Just got icy here and there on the way to work this am. I saw one poor guys fence taken out in 3 different places by people skidding off into his field. It was a nice white board fence!

Mornin' all. After a week of not having a chance, I finally installed the new G2 panhard bar last night. The factory piece feels so chintzy in comparison.

Ah, cold and frosty. Finally a chance to use my down coat.
It was a challenge getting in the IROC this morning....both doors were frozen shut. Finally got in the passenger side to start the car and & defrosters. After a few more minutes, I coaxed the driver's side open.
Yesterday morning I couldn't get the driver's side window back up after going through McDonald's drive through, so I skipped my Sausage McMuffin this morning for fear of a repeat (I was feeling too lazy to walk in this time).
That poor IROC is threatening to fall apart one piece at a time. Once I have more daylight to ride in, I'll be able to go back to my bicycle and the train for my commute. Then the IROC can be retired to the garage.
Have a good one, all!

Sounds like you need a good mechanic to look at the IROC! Posted by HTWLSS (Member # 117) on :

Oh! You better run from the wrath of Steve da Wrench! He has "connections". I make note of the problems and he keeps fixing them, one by one. Once one thing is fixed, something else unrelated decides to break. The car has 122k miles on it and the little things are starting to wear out. It's been a great car though.
Unfortunately, I can't pry the '98 out of Steve's grip right now to get my turn at it. He went through it piece by piece and replaced nearly everything on the car using the parts from RHT's totaled SS. It was stripped down to a bare shell and every inch was inspected. It was essentially a complete restoration (minus new paint). He worked his butt off doing it, so it's only fair he gets to drive it awhile. When the IROC is ready to be parked, it'll be my turn in it (possibly some track days in 2004).

Actually being a former Master Auto Technician,I probably give all of my cars more maintaince than they need.I keep up with the smallest problem that may come up.Even my old Ford Ranger that I sold with 195,000 miles was driven to West Virginia and passed their strick State Inspection with ease.Every car I have sold,i never recieved a call from the new owner.
