Yesterday board member MY02SSLE e-mailed me a piece of history for my Brickyard 400 that I have never been able to get out of Howard Kirchenbauer.
Over 2 years ago I asked a question on a pace car web site and never got a reply for over 2 months of checking it.Seems that Jim Hairston just replied to it 2 weeks ago.The question was "What Winston Cup driver rode in my car for the driver introduction?" I was told that Ricky Craven was the driver. I know there is much more information to find out about my car other than Arelco Inc. charged GM for 12.8 gallons of fuel when they recieved it. Anyone know how to get Howard to open up and let people know the history behind their pace or festival car? Some people that own older Camaro Pace Cars have asked Howard and they still don't know the history. [Smile]

By the way I forgot to mention that December 29th was two years since I took delivery of this fine Camaro! As a matter of fact the weather today was much like it was then on December 29, 2001!

Well I guess a Happy Birthday is in order for your 35th Anniversary LE! [Smile] The Friday I took delivery of mine, the car was shipped to my house in the Berger Chevrolet inclosed trailer and that day it snowed around 21" in Grand Rapids,Mi. where Berger is located. They are across the State and we may have had 11" of snow.It was very exciting seeing that trailer arrive in what looked like a blizzard on that cold Friday night.I even have video of the car being unloaded and my old 1999 Z28 going in the trailer.Too bad I did not drive the car for another 4 months with just the exception of taking it to a local park for it's 1st pictures. The wait was killing me! I even drove it home in 5 degree weather with the top down! [Big Grin]

The history of how your car was used at the race is a nice addition to your collection. It's something that most of us will never have, making it really special. [Cool]

I thought the same thing at first. Could be worse...someone like Jimmy Spencer.

Anyway,I look at it...I finally have that information to whoever rode in it. [Smile]
