Thought i would post this up so everyone knows.

World Wide Camaro and Classic Chevy Internatinal are going to have their 30th Annual International show in Hampton, VA. Show dates are July 21-July 25.
Host Hotel is the Holiday Inn $79.00 per nite. Call 757-896-3364 for reservations.
Free welcome BBQ
Show 'N Shine Judging
Cruiser Class (display Class)
Tech Seminars
Classic Chevy's 30th B-Day Bash

They are expecting 500+ cars to come to this.
Also if you own a Anniversary car 20th thru 35th please let me know, they want to have a anniversary car gathering and if we can get enough cars in our own display area. I'm trying to get the first and last 35th Anniversary car together and maybe the last saleable 4th gen Camaro their also.

I should be there since i live 30 mins from the Hotel. I', actually a member of one of the local Camaro clubs that has a big part in the show. I attended a meeting awhile back at that Holiday Inn, and they are planning and expecting big things. Count me in for bringing my 35th LE SS.

Thanks for posting the show info. [Cool]

My wife and I usually spend part of our summer vacation in Virginia Beach. Hopefully we can schedule this year's vacation around the show time.

Travis what club do you belong to? I'm going to keep a count of the Anniversary cars so we know how many are going to come.

JohnS, that would be great, did you go to BG last year? i think I meet you, I was driving one of the brickyard vettes.

Yes, both my wife and I were there. I think we did meet briefly in passing.

Camaro Legends. I'm really not to active in the club, but I did attend that meeting. I believe Camaro Legends and Classic Chevy Lovers(something like that) are the host car clubs for the event.

That's the same club I'm in. By talking to Rob it sounds like they have 290 to 300 people already in the hotel. Should be a really good turnout. [Big Grin]

[Cool] Hopefully we'll have a good anniversary car display. I would like to get all of the different models together, it's not that hard for the 35th, but the 30th has 5. Just need 3 more. If anyone knows someone with a 25th please tell them there was alot of color combos for that year and it's going to be hard to get them all there.

Posted by Travisnd1 (Member # 1982) on :

Will the Anniversary Car section still be open for judging?

Posted by 35th 02 ss (Member # 1667) on :

yes, most likley what is going to happen is there will be a display of each different annivserary car that was made, the rest will be able to be judged. But and this all depends on how many cars show up i would like to keep all of them together.

Reminder

Posted by Archs89 (Member # 1086) on :

I have my room at the Hampton Inn since the main host Hotel is booked and now as I understand from Rob Harrington that the Hampton Inn is all booked too and filling up the third hotel , the Quality Inn . Should be coming in Thurday afternoon , hopefully before the Thurs. BBQ .
Travis can tell me what the local car rentals are available there ? I was going to bring my daily driver so my wife will have free reins and transportation to the beach each day but with the gas prices it might be cheaper to rent another car after getting there. I know I will not be taking my Camaro to the beach everyday or anywhere near the sand and salt ,

Craig

Tom Henry will show with a couple of his trucks. GMMG with a display and I also got a Boldwin Motion Phase III vette. Still working the issue with the cars from GM.

Thanks to a couple of people there is going to be a anniversary car display. Might even be able to get the 97 SEMA car from Matt Murphy.

They are also going to have trips planned to Bush Gardens and Colonial Willumsburg and Va Beach.

Would be nice if we could get a good turn out from the SSOA people, if we do then maybe would have a little get togther. I'll keep everyone up to date on things.

It really all depends on what Glass your going in. If it's the show N' shine then you have to be classified by 5 on Fri. This is the 1000 pts class, Display you can show up on Sat. mornin and get classified. This class does not go as much into detail, it's for people that want to show their cars but not really spend that much time on them...

I may take off early and go out there. The problem is, is that I am in a wedding that weekend. I want my car there, but I dont know if I can physically be there. I am hoping I can be there Friday night, Saturday morning, and maybe Sunday. So I dont think I'll be able to show in the Show N Shine class, since I wont be there the entire time.

Posted by Archs89 (Member # 1086) on :

Travis ,

There is a class for cruisers or display so maybe you can just go in that. The 1,000 point judged class is priced based on you helping with judging unless you pay an extra $20 for not judging. It's always nice to go in the 1,000 point judged class to see what improvements you might need or if your car is like a friend's of mine he got a 999 out of 1,000. Either way I look forward on meeting you and some of the other back prochers that is going to be there. Just look for a dark red metallic 3rd. Gen with a cowl induction hood and you'll find me rubbing and cleaning on it from the 8 hour drive there ,

Craig
