The Austin F-body club had a dyno day yesterday, and I took the SS over for it's first ever dyno pull. Since the car's been my daily driver I've left the motor pretty much alone, concentrating mainly on the chassis, brakes, etc. A Whisper lid, K&N, and a couple of the free mods are all that I've done for the motor. She pulled almost 307hp and 321ft# torque. I was pretty happy with that.
Now the fun starts though. The daily driver days are almost over. SLP LT headers, y-pipe, and cats are sitting in the garage...and that's just the beginning.

You know you'll still want to drive it daily. Maybe we can talk mama into one of those LS1 based 600hp 427" motors. That will definately satisfy you, for a while anyways. Not too shabby of numbers for a basicly stock car.

Could you help me out with that Tim? I know she respects your opinion. She still tells me that I need the shiny wheels 'cuz it's a black car and you said so.

Chrome wheels are much more aerodynamic than the silver painted ones, you should know that. Had you had chrome wheels you may have reached 310 on the dyno..lolol

NOOOOOOooooo!!!! Don't tell him that!! Then he'll REALLY leave me in the dust on the way to BG (unless he meets up with Officer Bob again...LOL!) Posted by twobratSS (Member # 2180) on :
Hey, now! With me being a lawman, we can't have this lawlessness on the way to BG! (Okay, okay! I'll leave my badge and one bullet on the nightstand while we're gone...)

How 'bout YOU leading the pack with one of those stick-on siren thingys on top of the SS....then we can go as fast as we want, right??? Posted by el ess1 (Member # 1544) on :
Hey, Randy, this is Mike. Tell your wife to leave you to your garage and get back in the kitchen where she belongs. (and have her take her shoes off first so she'll be barefoot, too!) HAHAHAHA!

Thanks for the suggestions folks!! Knowing that my fellow SSOA members would only be concerned about my well being, I decided to take the direct approach.
Here's how it played out. I went home at lunch today. Told Linda that I'm spending 20K on a Guldstrand Signature 427 LS1, and that we (Mike, notice I said "we") thought she should just stay barefoot and in the kitchen, where she belongs.
I sure do wish that this Holiday Inn had covered parking.....
