I really like the Avalanche for it's versatility. I want a vehicle that I can take Grace and Dani and pull an enclosed trailer with parts (hopefully someday I will have one). I was thinking about the Avalanche 2500.
What are your suggstions and of course, how do I get a really good deal??
Thanks!

I bought a Silverado 4x4, ECSB back in July and I got it out the door for $24,500. I can easily fit my 3 german shepherds in the truck. I put on an extang fulltilt tonneau cover, GM molded mudflaps, tinted the windows, a trenz billet grille, and got rid of those crappy tiny goodyear tires for 285/75/16 BFG AT TA KO's and I LOVE the truck now!
The sticker was $32,600 on my truck but I got $3k off sticker (normal), $3k rebate, $750 gm loyalty rebate for the firehawk and a $500 conquest rebate for trading in a stratus. That's over $7k in rebates before we started negotiating. For 04 Chevy now has the 1500 silverado in a quad cab...I saw this at the auto show and it is a SWEET truck...the rear seats have a slight angle to them, a split rear window and the one we saw had the dvd system in the back!! Too bad they didn't have those for 03 or I would have tried to get one! Good luck!!

My sister really likes the look of the avalanche. I think they look like badass trucks, personally, but I ahve never driven one. They look awesome, go for it!

As I have said before the avalanche/EXT are my favorite GM trucks.... I like the versility that they offer... part time SUV and for the few times a year I need a pickup I have one....
The EXT is my favorite of the two and is my current ride.... the 6.0 might be better for pulling.... I know the 8.1 in the 2500's will only do about 10-12MPG so be prepared to pass everything but a gas station.....
GM is extending the in the driveway program but the new certificates have not ben sent out yet....
If you want a "review" of the trucks Motor Trend has a nice review of the avalanche in the Long term section of this months mag.

Avalanche is the way to go.....you have the utility of a pickup truck, however, it's based off the suburban chassis, so the ride is much better......

Dan I think yo uwill enjoy the Avalanche as the ride is very smooth, the seating is comfortable, the utility is grand, and its just plain all around fun.
Good Luck with your purchase. Posted by Hawkeye (Member # 88) on :

Go with the new Toyota Tundra double cab. It will be more reliable and on the road long after the Avalanche has been sent to the scrap heap. My opinion only.

I would not hesitate to get an Avalanche as an alternative to a new Suburban. It has towing capacity, hauling and room for the dogs.At first I did not really care for it but it grew on me. Posted by MM (Member # 1247) on :

Look at its weak towing capacity then see if you would say the same thing.... if all you have to pull is a jet ski and don't mind 7/8 scale.... Just because it has a "T" on it does not mean its better.... After all they don't sing like a rock for nothing.....

Ummmmm.....Bob Seger sang Like A Rock, and I'm pretty sure he did it for the money.
