Offically the range on the RKE should be from 3-30 feet. If it doesn't work you probably need a new battery...
Some of my other "beaters" have worked at over 100 feet... like my Deville and EXT... Posted by 2002Z4CSS (Member # 1393) on :

Like MM stated, probably the battery in the key fob is going dead. Posted by Hawk196 (Member # 2175) on :
Believe it or not, but place the fob at the bottom of your chin and try it.....I think it uses your body as an antenna. Kerm suggested this years ago on the old SLP board

Yeah, I've told people this same thing and all they did was laugh at me. (It works though.)

Mine works probalby around 50 feet. Depends if you have a clear line of site and where you hold the fob. Ususally if you raise it higher, it works further. I'm not sure where the reciever in the car is located. My friend's Saturn SC2 works pretty far, so i think its where the sensor is in the car (as well as battery strength) Posted by Z28-SORR (Member # 1565) on :
Most of these systems are picked up by the radio ant.

Mine fluctuates. If I am standing right next to the car it usually works and far away as well. It's the medium-distance that isn't very consistent. My truck's key fob will work from 100 ft. away but not if I am standing right next to it.
