Just thought I'd pass on some news about my friend, Joe Chen who had a very close call last week in one of his Firehawks. Some may remember Joe being at Bowling Green in September as part of the Toronto contingent. He brought his 10th Anniversary Firehawk there - kinda hard to miss! Joe is a real Firehawk nut and had 3 of them (until last week). He had an incident on Hwy. 404 on some black ice and to make a long story short, walked away without a scratch after totalling his '99 Firehawk by spinning out and hitting the guard rail a few times while doing a couple of 360's. He ended up facing north in the southbound lanes, and luckily, no other cars were involved in this mishap! This was not the first close call Joe has had with this car, as he left some paint on the wall at Mosport's turn 2 a couple of summers ago on a lapping day. At least he walked away unscathed and is looking to buy back the car from the insurance co. who wrote it off completely. He still has the 10th Anniv. and an '01 6-speed with an ARE heads and cam pkg.!

Glad to hear he's OK. Cars are replaceable, people aren't.

Glad to hear that he walked away from it. I'm surprised he'd even be driving one of those cars in winter weather.
