Hun...i think after 0 degrees,,that's when you lose all feeling...below that..its just a statistic...like they said...cold is cold!! Posted by NATESS (Member # 982) on :
Dang, now that is cold. when we had our little snow storm a few weeks ago, i thought the low 10's was cold. BBRRRRR!!!!

Absolutely. Do you notice difference between +80 and +100?

Thats what I thought! Teri always insists that after it gets down around zero, then it all feels the same, and I disagree Posted by cytruffle (Member # 1733) on :

LOL!! ....not when my black car has been sittin' in the sun and I'm wearin' shorts!!

I'd be inclined to agree with Teri....but then I've never felt 0 degrees, much less below! Posted by Hawkeye (Member # 88) on :
You can feel it - my usual 1/2hour dog walk - takes on a new meaning when the wind chill gets in the - teens F. I can usually make it home with all feeling in fingers and toes. If it's real cold, the hands start to go about 2/3 through the walk. Then the face starts to get numb.
It's the wind more than the temps. Posted by Mike2001SS (Member # 2088) on :
I was out on the road in a blizard a few years ago out west and the temp was -37 and wind chill I don't remember but you sure can tell that from 0

You can DEFINITELY feel the difference. I have experienced a lot of below zero weather and trust me after a -25 a 0 feels almost warm. Another interesting phenomenon that happens at that temperature is your house will emit loud cracking noises (I kid you not). It sounds like things are breaking in the attic. I am not sure what causes this but the first time it happened to me I was VERY concerned. But being outside in -25, everything needs to be covered. I always wore a ski mask and hood along with other thermal garments because you can get frostbite so quickly at those temperatures.......and if the wind is blowing, it's even worse.

Naahhh! Does it matter if you're in water that's 15' deep or water that's 150' deep if you don't know how to swim?!? Stupid question # 1458: Who can tell the difference between -40 degrees Farenheit and -40 degrees Celsius? (don't answer this one, Art )
Best regardSS,
Elie

It's the point where the two different slopes intersect, they are the same at that point, -40*C=-40*F

I guess I made that as clear as mud. It's the only place on the two different temperature scales that they are the same. They change because the *F scale is larger then the *C scale (212*F=100*C) You might want to brush up on this, there's gonna be a test later on! Posted by 02 BlackHawk (Member # 2052) on :

I know, I know............one has an "F" and the other has a "C".
BTW, daytime high was -6C in T.O. today and people were outside without their coats having a smoke. Posted by cytruffle (Member # 1733) on :
